Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.September 13, 2011 at 1:09 pm #856263I agree with you exactly Scenceable, but I personally do think 1 per customer is the way to go with pieces that are so sought after 🙂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.September 13, 2011 at 5:23 pm #856376I’m wondering myself. If it’s going to be 2 per customer, I’m a little more anxious since they will be gone half the time.

The issue with this right now is that people are getting 2 who already have 8, and people who STILL have not had a chance to get even 1 are missing out on the batches – so basically you have some customers who are getting some from every batch, and some who are getting more and more disappointed with every batch because they haven’t been able to get even 1.
Although I like being able to get 2, I would rather it be 1 for the time being because I think some people are getting really frustrated with the process and are almost to the point of giving up on these entirely because they’re not as quick at the draw. Not to mention that if it’s a 2 per customer limit, 120 unis WILL sell out in less than an hour, and to a mere 60 people. I’d guess that over half of those 60 will have already bought unis from other batches in the past.
I’m just trying to think of everyone here, and to be fair to everyone, the limit must be 1. They’re too popular not to.

I think Melody is right… a limit of two gives someone a greater chance of getting one they really like! If we are allowed to order two.. I only plan on keeping the one I like the most anyway. 🙂

September 13, 2011 at 7:02 pm #856391I have to agree with the (temporary) limit of 1. I unfortunately haven’t been able to get a single GB Young Unicorn yet because I typically work 6-7 days a week and I’m always working during the hours they’re released. And if I wait until someone sells them on the forum, their prices tend to skyrocket. 🙁
….The only other option/idea I can think of is to possibly make a new post to see how many unicorns individual forum members intend to purchase in this next batch. This way it will at least give a *rough* estimate of how many should be released at the same time. I know most people want two, but others (including myself) would be happy with just one. Maybe if we give this a try we can see how many should be made (if possible) before releasing them in the store…
September 13, 2011 at 7:37 pm #856395This grab bag debate interesting. I don’t think Melody and the Windstone team are going to find a solution everyone will like unfortunately. 🙁 I can see both sides of the issue and it’s tough to decide. Yes, allowing a limit of 2 will allow them to sell out more quickly, but even a limit of 1 wouldn’t really stop those who are determined to get multiples. And, if someone wants two and can afford two, should they really be prevented from getting them?
Also – there must be a lot of non-forum members (or at least non-posters) buying these things! I don’t think I’ve seen 60 people in the threads clamoring for them, let alone 120. Who know what those folks think about the limits.
If other items in the store sell out (happens all the time – look at the red panda cats!) it doesn’t seem like people get as upset. There will always be pieces we want and can’t get because we were offline, out of town, broke, etc.
I’m just happy Melody keeps being willing to paint these in the face of all the debate! I’m sure it would be easier to stop and just go make another batch of amethyst youngs or something. 🙂 I’m sure whatever limit goes in for these, it will be thoughtfully decided to try and reach a compromise that makes sense for everyone.
September 13, 2011 at 8:57 pm #856407I think 1-per customer is fair, especially if we could remove the limit after a day or two (if there are still babies left). Then people who wanted two can go ahead and purchase another.
September 13, 2011 at 9:03 pm #856411And if I wait until someone sells them on the forum, their prices tend to skyrocket. 🙁
This is another thing that I consider a problem .. although there ARE some people who resell their unis with the best of intentions, I have seen people making a profit off of these – on here and on ebay. I’m not trying to call anyone out, and I honestly dont even remember who it was that I saw do this.. but it’s extra disheartening for people who haven’t yet gotten a unicorn to be pigeonholed into paying more than they were in the store just to get one.
(EDIT – Note!! this is NOT saying anything about people who are WILLING to pay extra for that one unicorn that they REALLY want! I am guilty of this too!! I’m just trying to look at it from someone’s perspective who hasn’t gotten in on the fun yet!)
It just puts a little extra punch in the fact that their fun has already been ruined.
And please remember I am speaking as someone who HAS already gotten grab bag unicorns. Although I’d be happy to buy several of these guys from the store if they are put in with no limit, I still think it’s the <i?fairest thing to do to keep the limit at 1 for now. It may not be the most beneficial for everyone, but it definitely is the fairest if Windstone is aiming to do things this way.

I have missed out on every single batch of any GB batch in the past. This last 2 batches that just released I was able to get 2 but they are the first. I’d really like to keep one and trade one for something I’d hoped to get but am still happy I got them at all! If I’m able to trade one I’ll still have two or at least sell one, keep one and use the money for the next new “something”
I have never gotten the youngs either and hope I am able to catch them. I do think it should be limited to 2 per household though. If you have 2,3,or even 4 people who collect in the same house, at least 4 of an already limited supply will be gone that quick!
If my hubby collected them ( windstones in general) then by default, what’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is also mine :p
The subject of limits for anything will always be a sore topic in gereral though.September 13, 2011 at 10:43 pm #856419Is there an ETA on them yet? Just curious ^_^

Melody, Will there be a picture taken of the young grab bag unicorns and then posted to the blog like the baby unicorns?
Thank you,

September 17, 2011 at 4:02 pm #856843I dont think there should be any reason not to post a group picture, especially since we saw a bunch of them on webcam last night. I’d like to see the group of them all finished and pretty(even the scary tie-dye looking ones).
September 18, 2011 at 3:42 am #856915As with the GB babies, I would love to see a group pic. I also wonder if it would be possible to put half of this new young batch in the store in the morning and the other half in the afternoon so those of us who work afternoons and nights will still have a chance to get one. I missed all of the last baby batch because I was working 🙁
September 18, 2011 at 4:58 am #856922I would love to see a group pic too!
It added to the anticipation of receiving them in the mail!
When I was bored, I would just look at the group photo. I realized I wouldn’t be disappointed with any one of them, they are all gorgeous in their own right! -
