I can’t even imagine what you must be going thru right now. What a horrible thing to have happen. I’m so sorry for your loss.

The dog we adopted was Lab/German Shep mix to be a friend to our Golden Retriever mix. All was great and I’m still trying to figure what happened, but I guess I will never know.

I’m sorry for your loss. Know that he’s waiting for you at the rainbow bridge and he will always love you.
GSD (German Shepard Dog) and GSD mixes sometimes turn on dogs they’ve grown up with. Particularly if they are the same sex. It could have been over a toy or the water bowl or something stupid. When my GSDs get into a fight it’s like they’re brains shut off. It has a lot to do with how they were bred.I never leave the new dogs unsupervised with my crew until several months have passed to insure that nobody’s going to try and kill someone else. I foster for a Husky rescue so I have strange dogs coming in and going out all the time.

I thought that cause Broozer was a little male that if my bigger dogs were females that something like this would not happen but obviously I was very wrong and because of my poor decision, he’s gone. I wish that I would of let my two little guys back in the house earlier. Broozer always did try to be the little big man, always had to eat first, come inside first and my two that I still have always knew this but I guess the Shep didn’t want to follow the rules.

We only had her for a week and she came with a great wrap sheet from her previous owners. They had to give her up cause they were moving and could not take her with them. I’m guessing that Broozer tried to be in charge and she didn’t like it. My other Terrier mix doesn’t make trouble so I guess thats why she didn’t turn on him and if she would of got into it with my Goldy mix then she would of had a fight on her paws cause they were the same size same build. But then again, my Goldy mix is a lover and not a fighter.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s awful to come home to something like that. 😥

I lost my dog Broozer today. 😥 I loved him so much. My husband and I adopted a dog last week from the SPCA here in town and brought her home and all the dogs and cats got along great. Unfortunatly she turned and killed my Broozer. He was only 6. My husband turned her back in to the SPCA and they have to put her down. I will miss Broozer always. He was my bud. Rest In Peace Broozer, we miss you and love you.

Ohhh, words can not express how I feel for you. I had a similar situation happen. There are no words that I can say to make you feel better. You did something good for another animal and you paid with the lives of both.

Hugs, and please know that the dog you adopted was unfortunately messed up, probably by some human being. Don’t blame yourself or the dog…it was probably whatever happened to that poor dog, before you offered it a home, that led to this sad loss.

My husband and I purchased a sad German Shepherd pup that lingered for months at a pet store. We thought we could train her. We worked hard to get her adjusted, but in the end she killed a Min Pin and injured another…..and we were scared she would get out and hurt a human child…..we had to have her destroyed….this was 14 years ago and it still lingers in my heart.

I know your are suffering and I hope that you understand that it isn’t your fault and you must move on…and don’t stop rescuing dogs! If you need to talk..pm me…I have been there and there are no words I can give you to make this better! I can only offer a shoulder if you need it!

Oh no. 🙁 Shepherds and terriers don’t often get along (they do sometimes but often do not). My one husky shepherd mix is the most docile and laid back dog ever- but when my grandmother would bring her yorkie terrier over, the terrier would get in his face and try to boss him. Once he had had enough and he simply picked the terrier up and shook him- we were right there and got them apart with no damage but it would have been very easy for him to break the yorkie’s spine. When I used to help adopt out dogs I always recommended against combos like this- terriers are too ‘in your face bossy’ for some of the bigger dog breeds.

I’m very sorry for your loss!

Thanks. I’ve had some bad luck with animals the last month. Before this happened we had adopted a antoher dog on Dec.22 and she was only 4 or 5 months. We got her home and she was sick, ended up having Distemper so I had to put her down the second week of January. I know you say don’t stop rescuing dogs but I don’t think I can handle any more right now. No more death! I’ve had too much death in the past year and that doesn’t just include the animals. Besides, my dad told me that his wife (they just got married and don’t live together) was gonna lose her house and she took all the equity out of it so the payments are too high for them to pay. Well anyways, she has an old dog, about 11 or 12 and he may not be able to keep the dog at his place cause the dog is medium to big.(mobilehome park rules)So we may need to help them out with her dog. For now I have my goldy mix(who thinks she is a little lap dog) and my other terrier mix-not to mention the cats who never leave me alone! Thanks for all the help. I’m starting to feel better and realize he’s in a better place probably kicking back with my father-in-law!
