Looks like I’ll be doing a new golden ruby. This one had too much silver for the client. No worries though, the next will have deeper reds and no silver.
😯 They are CRAZY! I’ll bid on it! I probably won’t win! But I’ll bid! I love it!

But it has no stripes…without stripes it’s really not like a frog, but it does match the same colors like on the dragon…so now I’m torn if I should add solid stripes on the KiRin’s back or not…that may or may not look weird. Then again, it might look cool. I just don’t know.
As for the gold ruby…I guess I’ll post him on ebay after my frog dragon sells.
January 22, 2007 at 5:49 am #530472Dragon, well, it’s kinda difficult (you probably know though, lol) when you try to descibe a piece to someone when they want certain colors but then leave bits to you for your own free reign. That, and it’s just not always easy to understand each other. This piece was kinda like that…the commissioner wanted set colors but I added silver, a little too much so I suppose in my free reign; and the red is too red, it needs to be darker than what I used and have no silver…but you can’t explain colors well in emails, lol. The commissioner did like the dragon, but it’s not the picture she had in her head for it. So, I’ll just do another without silvers and with deeper reds in a different pattern. There just wasn’t really time to do a Photoshop color pattern thingie and even then Photoshop colors aren’t 100% to paint either.
January 22, 2007 at 5:52 am #530473I don’t think it’s a lot of loss that the commissioner didn’t want this one, is it? I mean, the green one os at $92, and it’ll go higher. You’ll get decent pay for the golden ruby, too.

The colors, however, I have thought about! 🙂 I have a red-eyed dragon on the way for a similar color, only with black added in the corners.
LoL – I know! Water was the first to get them out there, and now all her dragons have stripes… The first time I saw these little guys I was thinking stripes myself! Hopefully, my stripes will be distinctive from Water’s stripes…

-J R R TolkienJanuary 22, 2007 at 5:57 am #530476No Windstone can ever be a loss. I did enjoy painting it and I think someone else wuld love to give it a home, and no worries. I know I can get my $40 back on her at least so that’s what counts when something like this happens, as it were.
January 22, 2007 at 5:59 am #530477I think you’ll get more than your $40 back for this one. She’s worth it. 😉
