Hi Melody
I was just wondering if you thought the picture of the old warrior in the store was an accurate representation of his coloring? I really like the gold pieces with more brown shading mixed in with the gold and the store picture of the old warrior doesn’t show much brown. So I was just wondering if the lighting might have washed out his brown or if these guys are being painted a little differently up in Oregon than they were in California?November 10, 2009 at 3:00 am #792314NicoleH wrote:Hi Melody

It’s really quite lovely. And the letter I got sent with it explains that mine is from the 2nd batch, which is lighter than the 1st batch, which were darker. If you look in the “Show me your signed gold lap dragons!” thread you’ll see my pics as well as others…there’s one from another collector that shows both the light and dark versions.
These are laps, not OWs, but the paint would be the same so you can get a good idea of what it looks like.Hope that helps!

I’ve just noticed that some people’s Ow’s look like they have more shading than other people’s and now the picture of the OW in the store looks like he is one of the ones that has less. I really want to get one but i want to make sure i get one with a good amount of brown on him. I have looked at that lap dragon thread though and those laps sure are pretty(both versions). I’m glad you got and liked yours! Congrats

He looks more intense than the one in the store pic; that one may of been a first test paint. We haven’t made any more golden dragons since we moved, so all the ones we have in stock are from the California shop.
