Welcome back! Hope you had lots of fun?! Was the weather like it’s been here?
March 6, 2007 at 4:48 pm #543740Wow! I think I have to add that to my list of places I want to visit… Fantastic! And so glad you enjoyed it, and are home safe…

The video on photobucket is actually the little video I took while I was trying to get into a better position…the second video I took has all the biting, and the end of the fight, but it’s too big to load onto photobucket.
They do look quite a bit like slugs. It’s undeniable. But they undulate across the sand like giant gelatenous inch-worms.
The weather was, for the most part, very mild. The water in the lagoon was something like 65 degrees, nice and warm. It was only very windy one day. It was chilly in the morning, but warmed up nicely as the day went on. We had to peel off layers!
Yes, yes – if ANYONE gets the chance to go to this place (San Ignacio Lagoon) JUMP AT IT!!!! But make sure you go in the winter when the whales are there… 😉

March 6, 2007 at 11:19 pm #543743ZOMG That looks like it was such an awesome trip! I had to wait to get home to see the pic and vids! TOTALY COOL! I wanna go with you next time! LoL
March 6, 2007 at 11:26 pm #543744Wow… that looks like it was AMAZING. I can’t believe you got to see giant slugs fighting… *laughs* What an opportunity. And I had no idea there was a place where whales would just come up to people and want to be petted. That’s crazy.

Except for dinosaurs, but they’re gone. And dragons, but you don’t see too many of those. Oh, and of course griffins are excluded from this statement – they, naturally, are my ALL TIME favorites. Anyway – ) and there are some scientists/researchers who are studying their communication with each other through their sonar…all the little clicks whistles and thrums that they make with their blowholes…and a few of those scientists believe that they can actually SHOW other whales what they are saying – their sonar creates a 3D picture for the other whale, maybe even a 3D moving picture. I have no idea how plausible that is, but I do know it’s absolutely possible…and I think that’s just freakin’ amazing!
