I’m green with envy and have been dying to hit the coast! But as I can’t at the moment I’ll just have to do it vicariously through you  Relax, enjoy, stock up on good memories and have a marvelous time!

It was great! Draining on some levels, but totally awesome. I’m still in the process of loading pics 🙂
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

That’s good to hear! Did it end up being very rainy?
Oh, by the way, love your Quest idea!
May 2, 2014 at 1:40 am #912168So I haven’t been able to fix my website yet (tried an upload of my trip’s pics and boom!), but I was able to put up 2 pics of one of my favorite places on the coast.
This is Menéham, in Kerlouan.
The house was the coastguard house; it had to build of stone, because when he left to do his rounds on the coast, people took the wood away 🙂 it was a particularly poor spot, where nothing grew, so wood was a premium. The door is on the other side, in case you’re wondering…
The entire “beach” is riddled with these boulders. Once I can upload more pics, you can get a full view!
My dad and I are at the top.

May 6, 2014 at 4:09 pm #912324Awesome photos, moar!
Background, history of that coastguard cottage plz? How long ago are we talking when they realized that stone would be better, since the wood was being pilfered?

The village started being built around 1685 – not sure when the ‘lil house was built, though. The roof was torn down twice before they clued in, that much I remember – the guard was gone days at a time. There wasn’t much info recorded on that particularly. Most people living there would fish and gather seaweed on the beach, which was then burned and used to make iodine.
