The town where my parents live did Tigers a few years back because that’s the mascot of the univerity there (Auburn University). They were a lot of fun to see around town. Two of them were even painted up like Superman and Batman. I wanted to get pictures of those, but they were on the roof of the Mini-Mart (you’d think those would be at the local comic shop).
February 12, 2008 at 6:47 am #632661Zürich has done cows (I actually think the Cow Parade here was what started this whole idea), benches, bears and lions. I wonder what’s next.
February 14, 2008 at 6:24 pm #632662Yipee! I just got back from a week-long trip, and there was a box waiting for me when I got home… the muse! My husband was very impressed with everyone’s paint jobs so far, so I figured I should pass on the compliments! 8)
*meek & apologetic* Tintaglia, I think you didn’t paint all of your section, based on the “Gray’s anatomy”, I think all the hair was yours, not just the ponytail… do you want me to send it back to you rather than on, or Dragonmedley, do you have a different suggestion? Well, it’ll be a couple of days before I get to paint anyway, so we have time to figure it out. Now to take her sightseeing! 🙂

Shucks, I don’t have the anatomy sheet with me at work… but yeah, the ponytail is part of all the hair. If you want, Bosky, you can match Tintaglia’s colors and do the rest of the hair. Sending it back is also an option.
Tintaglia, whaddaya think?

I debated about doing all the hair, but I like the idea of a ponytail. It was the way I’d painted my Muse (see below). And with so many more to go, I figured I didn’t need to do all the hair. 🙂 Call it artist interpretation. 😀
February 26, 2008 at 6:58 am #632667So, Boskydragon has the muse right now, correct?
February 26, 2008 at 12:08 pm #632668Yup. Haven’t heard any more since Muse arrived there about a week ago. They’re probably busy doing the town. 🙂
March 2, 2008 at 12:15 am #632669Yay! Muse is on its way to Kujacker! I’ll post pics as soon as I reduce the file size. The thing that took me the longest…. getting a NM sticker for the luggage 🙄 😆
We really enjoyed the visit though, and my daughter was definitely fond of him. 🙂 I painted the “beak fan”.March 2, 2008 at 2:02 pm #632670Yah, I know, I can’t find any stickers. I’m thinking of making my own…
March 3, 2008 at 1:37 am #632671Don’t forget to check your local craft store (Michaels, JoAnns, etc) for Scrapbooking supplies. You can usually find some cute travel/state stickers for your area, plus they’ll be better sized for the small suitcase.
March 3, 2008 at 8:54 pm #632672Muse arrived safe! 😀 I’ll take him sight seeing in a bit, after I’ve finished painting my part!
March 5, 2008 at 7:21 pm #632673Yay, pics!
Here is the muse, close up at the botanical gardens.
The muse came to work with me in the field (before I painted him) to help monitor a burned site and a mechanically cleared site in the riverside forest. Here he is monitoring groundwater. (Notice the padded Thomas traveling bag 🙂 )
and gathering litterfall
Finally, my daughter & I had an afternoon out and took the muse with us to UNM (where I work) and the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens (where my daughter loves to watch the model trains). The gardens also have a great kids’ area, complete with dragon (smoke/steam comes out the nostrils in the summer).
UNM lobo!
watching trains
in the train village
here comes the train!
there it goes! Amtrak!
Very large dragon! Castle in background… (no muse, don’t strain your eyes looking, I just thought you’d enjoy the dragon)
Giant ants!
😯
Souvenir… penny flattened with a dragon stamp from the gardens…March 5, 2008 at 7:27 pm #632674Oh, those pix are TOO darling!!!!!
twindragonsmum 😀
