Thanks for the pics and explanations, Pegasi. That Muse is getting to see more places and people than a lot of folks! 😆
February 8, 2008 at 7:57 pm #632646That’s a shame I came too late to make the Muse see the province of Quebec… 😥

I’m sure it will happen again. 😀

February 11, 2008 at 1:09 am #632649The Muse got to meet Bambi. She just joined the family last November and is still a bit shy. Guess the Muse is quite a charmer. Who knew he could speak feline.
Then the Muses got together while I was at work to discuss What to paint, What colors to use and Where to go on the upcoming weekend.

In 2007, Winter Park, FL had ArtyGators…

http://www.artygators.com/home.htmYesterday, Muse and I went out to see a few of the ArtyGators displayed on the streets of Winter Park. This area is full of shops and we saw many people just out strolling with their dogs enjoying the warm sunny day. Some of the cafes have outdoor tables and are dog friendly. I thought that was pretty cool.
This Gator sat outside the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. His name is Slab and I think he represents either mining or prospecting since he’s holding a pick and hammer. These gators are 6ft tall, so Muse looks pretty small sitting on the column that the gator has his arm on.
This is Gallery Gator. He has copies of masterpieces all over him. His toenails are bigger then Muse sitting on the bottom.
This one is King of the Red Tiles. He looked pretty cool covered all in shiny tiles.
This is Patriot. He was awesome. Muse, at the bottom, was saluting for the picture. Really he was. 😀
The last one we visited was Tropi Gator.
February 11, 2008 at 7:04 am #632651Cool! I love it when cities take a mold and let artists decorate it. 😀
February 11, 2008 at 8:05 am #632652Ahh! 😀
I’ve heard of the Painted Ponies, Orcas and Bears and we had Cows some years ago (the City nickname is ‘Cow town’) I’ll have to see if I can hunt up some pics. It’s neat to see the gators!February 11, 2008 at 12:18 pm #632653We had painted Moose one year. I wonder where they went after. They were kind of neat.

Yes! We had one at the Toronto Zoo, and I think a few downtown Toronto.
I love these ‘gators.

February 11, 2008 at 7:11 pm #632656We had the Peanuts characters for a while (because Charles Schultz was from Minnesota) – Snoopy, then Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus… maybe more.
Last year there were dinosaurs in St. Paul. Very cute. The brontosaurus-type. One was made to look like a dragon with a collar and chain around its neck. Cool.
In Appleton last May there were lions to honor The Lion King that was playing there. They were cool too.
February 11, 2008 at 7:45 pm #632657Oh dam i must have missed those crocs when i was in vancouver! ACE!
February 11, 2008 at 7:50 pm #632658Great photos, Tintaglia! I wonder if gators eat Muses….. might want to keep a close eye on them 😉
February 12, 2008 at 1:09 am #632659Wow, I didn’t know there were so many others around the country. That’s really cool! These gators were too busy posing and showing off to bother thinking of Muse as a snack. 😀 Most of the time, the painted statues get auctioned off and the money goes to a local charity/cause.
And today, the Muse left to continue his travels. He should in Bosky’s hands in a couple of days.
