Great job everyone! I’m wondering how many people are left… Space is at a premium!
January 27, 2008 at 12:39 am #632631There is actually a lot of space left on the other sides of the muse. I’m the fifth stop and there are 8 more stops before the muse makes its way back to Dragonmedley.

January 28, 2008 at 7:49 am #632638The Muse is looking good!
January 29, 2008 at 6:25 pm #632639I was originally wanting to take the Globe Trotting Muse over to Savannah to show it some of the sights there, but I never could find a time to go (and money was a little short) so I took it to a couple of spots here on base.
While this field may not look like anything special to most people this is the field that the soldiers coming home from deployment cross to find their family members.
They line up here and march through the trees to their loved ones.
They have to pass by the giant 3ID logo. The 3ID is nicknamed Rock of the Marne.
We also walked along Warrior Walk, dedicated to all of the soldiers who have been killed in action since Operation Iraqi Freedom began. There are currently 381 trees planted.
This tree was planted in honor of a major in my husband’s battallion (1-64 AR) who was killed June 20, 2007, when he went along on a patrol and their truck was hit by an IED.
Here’s a close up of the area I painted. The muse has feet now!
And in case anyone wants to see close ups of the other areas that have been painted:
I’ll get it packed up and mailed off to Tintaglia in Florida tomorrow.
January 29, 2008 at 8:56 pm #632640What great photos, Pegasi! It looks like the Muse, as well as us, got to see an important part of your environment.
But, oh my, another US military base! O.O I hope he didn’t walk around unaccompanied! I need to buy some Star Trek and T.J. Hooker DVD series box sets *sigh*
Can’t wait to see the next leg of his journey!
January 30, 2008 at 1:55 am #632641Those are really interesting pics, Pegasi. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to start thinking about where to take Muse on his tour through Florida.
February 1, 2008 at 11:14 pm #632642Globe Trotter arrived at his next stop today. The suitcase and travel stickers is such a neat idea. You were inspired when you put this project together. π
Now for the hard part, deciding which part to paint and what colors to use. π

I know! I had the hardest time picking a spot. Glad to know it made it safe and sound. π
