:hi: We are fortunate enough to keep the snow away {for me personally}We pay for it in the summer though, hurricanes. When we retire, I’m going to Arkansas to stay.Beautiful country there.Never been further than Missouri, but just once,I would LOVE to see a white christmas.Mardi Gras is a blast. 😆 We take the young ones out and we have a ball watching them have fun.Nothing like it.Great family day.Hope you can experience it one time at least.

Today ,we get with friends and family,go to a couple of parades.Have a good time,bar-b-que,e.t.c.The people have a ball trying to catch the beads and trinkets.I have been on the floats and out on the street catching. Both are fun 😆 It is supose to allow people{catholic}a time of merriment and sins before “lent”.You have to give up something for “lent”.The masks are so no one is suppose to know who each other are during Mardi Gras time. That’s about as far as I will get into the deaper meanings behind it through history down here.It is a big afair though 8) What does your part of the coutry do to get a little crazy? 😈 😆 😆

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.April 5, 2009 at 10:25 pm #758874We take off our parkas and bathe in the sun when it finally gets warm again. 😀 Today was nice and sunny, took our my not-winter-not yet-spring leather jacket and we went for a walk.
April 5, 2009 at 10:57 pm #758875haha interesting, committing sins with masks on, what a nutty thing to do 😆 well my part of the country isn’t in your continent at all 😀 over here the mead does the deal, if you’re over 20 you can get crazy every weekend, has been that way since the Vikings ruled 8) but I personally think it is nonsense, getting drunk for fun, hangover is not fun at all so I just stay sober, well at least most of the year,
but we have Verslunarmannahelgi (the weekend of the handlers?) now that is one crazy, well no, crazy doesn’t cover it, it’s nuts, festival, from thursday til tuesday, in tents, getting really really wasted, and if you don’t remember it , that’s cool to (ya think?? naaah) I think it’s stupid, people should spend time together, sober, or in a controllable condition if you must have alcohol
I wish we had a meaningful one night like Mardi graas
April 6, 2009 at 12:16 pm #758876:hi: It does have it’s ups and downs, but, like all things,it’s what you make of it.I’m 50 this year,I’m over the drinking.{I grew up in New Orleans area.}I believe you need to laugh everyday and you are right,a lot of people can’t have fun unless they have help 😀 Mardi Gras is more than it seems on the outside.Kinda like the”Masons”society.Anyway,SPRING is here 😀 I couldn’t handle all that cold for so much of the year. But,Life would be boring without a great variety. :bye:

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.April 6, 2009 at 9:52 pm #758877haha, I’m turning 29 this year and I haven’t gotten into the “drinking traditions of Icelanders” , well I do that like 3-5 times a year,
the mardi graas thing, I think I´ll go to Wikipedia on that one, (I just love religion related traditions)
and variety in weather, well, on a good day you can see five kinds of weather, I am waiting for a day to come soon when I can get a picture of a sunny rain day for you guys, and a rain wall, now that’s something to talk about, I once saw one so dense that it was literally sunny where I stood and very dry, but two meters from me there was a line in the road that was wet and beyond that only dark wetness 8)

Mead! Mead is my favorite. I don’t drink it to get drunk… I just like the flavor!
