I’ve noticed on pix of members flap cats that the color of the gem in the necklaces vary. I’ve seen blue and I’ve seen amethyst. Was there a production color for the gems and a ‘goof’ happened? Or were the colors sorta random? My black flappers have a light blue stone. BDW has two siamese flappers (bird wing) and one has a purple gem; the other has a light blue one.
My black and whites (big and little) all have light blue. My Siamese all have amethyst. And my one Birman (I only have one right now) has an aquamarine.
i know some of the super early ones had a swavarsky (I just know I butchered that spelling… 😳 ) type finish to them. you know…that kind of rainbowy shift to the gem? I think they switched gem suppliers with that change…I’d never noticed actual different gem color before…hrmm. interesting. 🙂
I’ve got a siamese bat-winged cat with a purple gem, and a siamese bird-winged cat with a blue gem. I think all of the black flap cats I’ve seen have had blue gems. Confusing, but exciting! 😆
