My brother took me to the lake with him when he went fishing and I took my nephew. There were HUNDREDS of geese…I’d never seen so many in one place at one time. They let us get really close too! I could have reached out and touched one (if my nephew hadn’t been scared and tugging on me)

We walked slowly into the middle of them. I tried to get him to go chase them…but he wasn’t having any of that. I had a hard enough time getting him to let go of my hand so I could take a couple pictures of him.

A few hissed at us, but the majority just kept grazing and ignoring us.

We had fun for a couple hours, til he got tired and I got to carry him on my shoulders back up hill around the lake…3 years old and he’s heavy!

Anyway, I just thought I’d share the cute pictures ^^

Which lake is that Leigha? It looks like Vasona, but bigger.
I love geese. Aren’t they pretty? I love the darker feathers the CGs have. Beautiful!

Patrick (10) saw a swan up close a couple weeks ago. He went white when He saw the bird coming out of the water at him. He didn’t realize how big they were! 😆

Swans are mean -.- I wouldn’t trust one of those for anything. And they’re BIG! I had a recent encounter with a couple of swans.

Yeah it’s Vasona, we walked down one of the jogging/bicycle paths from some road where there were houses. I dunno, my brother was driving. The paddleboats were closed, or I’d have had my nephew on one of those, he loves water. They were pretty birds 🙂 I even saw a few weird ones that hard orange feet and a white neck/head, but with normal wings and body. They were weird looking.

Oh wow! There are tons of them (and tons of their poop as well!) What a neat experience!

oh god, you have no idea…we were walking in poop and the baby kept trying to pick up the dry bits because he wanted to throw “rocks” in the water…ugh. (I know he’s not a baby at 3 but I’m so used to calling him the baby) Atleast it didn’t smell as bad as other animal’s poop. And it washed off our shoes fairly easily.

I should have gotten a better picture of how many there actually were. It doesn’t look like a lot from the pictures, but there were a LOT of birds.
