Teaser pics of some of them being painted might appease us for a week or so. 😡 Or the eyeless ones on the rack.
^This!
January 17, 2012 at 6:46 pm #869486Melody, how many do you plan to paint and will it still be a 2 per person limit?
January 17, 2012 at 8:06 pm #869492Melody, how many do you plan to paint and will it still be a 2 per person limit?
Probably. I wish I had more to paint, but there are only 90 castings at the moment. I keep fantasizing about painting so many that there would be no need to have a limit per person, but that never seems to happen.
January 17, 2012 at 8:38 pm #869495I vote for limiting it to 1-per person. 90 castings, means not many people would get even one if most people got 2. And experience has taught us that increasing the price isn’t going to keep them in the store longer. This batch is really fancy, I don’t think it will kill anyone to just get one.
January 17, 2012 at 9:46 pm #869504I’m super excited for more unicorns! 😀 I hope there are some appaloosa pukey unicorns!
Limit of 1, I’d be fine with that. I also think you should charge in the range of $95+ for them. This is more true for the youngs, but the resale price of them tends to be way higher than the store price, so you might as well charge that to begin with.

disagree, why should it be raised to $30 more per one? besides $30 is quite a bit of a raise for something so small….and what if it goes back to 2 per after that? we’d be stuck with $95 each still? too much! also if the price was raised, wouldn’t people just charge even more for theirs when they sell them?
yes I understand that people charge a lot for certain ones but that doesn’t mean we should all get penalized at the get go for it…yes, I love the babies but no I would not go for the prices that some people charge, I’m a trader, I like making others happy if I may not like mine…..
4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinJanuary 17, 2012 at 10:16 pm #869508I also think you should charge in the range of $95+ for them.
I sincerely hope they won´t get THAT expensive!
I know it´s not an issue with all you lucky people in America but I have to pay the expensive priority shipping (if I want to get them at least within 3 weeks) + a customs fee of 19% for the total item price (item+shipping)!
I love these little guys very much, but I think I would not pay such a high price for a surprise colour.I can absolutely understand if they get a bit more expensive than the last ones if they take so much longer to paint, but I don´t think the resale price of a few popular pieces should matter. Mostly the GB Young unicorns are the ones that get such high prices when the are sold again. As far as I know the Babies don´t get that high prices 😉
January 17, 2012 at 10:55 pm #869513Raising the price isn’t going to keep them in the store longer and the after market re-sale value really shouldn’t be taken into consideration, whether a handful of people with deep pockets are willing to fork over $300 for a couple of unis isn’t necessarily reflective of everyone, nor of the product as a whole vs. that one individual piece between two bidders.
An increase in price due to the increased time to produce this batch doesn’t bother me. While I do like the 2 per customer limit, since this is a smaller batch and these little buggers are so popular, I am ok if they were made 1 per customer. Doesn’t hurt to share. I can always trade if I get one I’m not entirely happy with. 🙂
January 17, 2012 at 11:00 pm #869515I’d be fine with a 10$ increase, but I think anything more than that would set my teeth on edge. $30 is too much.
I think GBs should always be 2 per person. Not everyone does order the limit.
January 17, 2012 at 11:09 pm #869517I agree. 30 would be WAY too much! I know how much work Melody put into these, so I definitely expect a price increase, and I am totally cool with that!
I would appreciate a 2 limit for sure. I wanted to buy one and my husband wanted to buy one for me. I like the idea of getting a better chance of one that I’m absolutely in love with, and trading or selling the other one!January 17, 2012 at 11:32 pm #869524I think $85-95 would be a good price for these. They are as fancy as the GB young poads, and about the same size (the poads were $95).
I know the idea with 2-per was that a buyer could keep the one they liked and use the other for trading, but its hard for a person to trade when they did not have a chance to buy even one GB uni. I think at 2-per, these will be gone within an hour, easily. Melody has been working on this same batch of 90 for a few days strait now.
January 17, 2012 at 11:41 pm #869526Do we have any idea of when they be released? I don’t have a problem w/ $85-95. if they take a lot of Melody’s time then we should expect to pay for that time.
Looking for Blue Fawn Baby Kirin
Sanguine Oriental Test Paints, kinglet
Sun Dragon Koi #3January 18, 2012 at 12:09 am #869527I also think you should charge in the range of $95+ for them.

edit: Nevermind.

The grab bag baby poads were $95 and they’re the same size. Even the peach production baby poads were $90.
I guess my line of thinking was that if Windstone sold each one individually on ebay they’d sell for way more than $65 each. I do think that the reason $95 seems expensive is that it’s relative to the old $65. With paying for shipping to trade and whatever else, both the grab bag babies I have cost around $100 each, so when I said they should be $95, I guess that was just me saying what I’d willingly pay for one. Didn’t realize I would be the minority there 😛 My bad.
January 18, 2012 at 12:12 am #869533$95 is still a lot for some of us…$10-20 would bother me, 30 is too much…
anyhoo, I doubt Wampus wants this thread turning into a debate over pricing…we should keep this about colors and not about a big hike….

That would be my preference yes. Post more colors.
