Hehehe, those are racing shoes. They are made of Nomex which is fire proof. I have a helmet and gloves made with the same material. Some events require fire proof equipment.
The shoes are actually a lot like boxing shoes, they have a very flat sole and you can feel the clutch, gas and brakes better than a regular shoe. And since they are fire proof, when you are on the hot asphalt at the track, they don’t get as hot.
It was about 90% humidity and 50 degrees that day. It was freezing. And of course since I am a woman, I have to have matching accessories for the car π
Hehehe, we had a great time today! And we signed up as a sponsor for a race event in April that supports autism reasearch. So it was a good day and for a great cause!
