Ooh Drag0n Im right there with you! I also dont collect friends on Myspace. It seems like its a competition or something. Folks have like, 240 friends!! Seriously now… most people have a hard time coming up with 10 names of “real” friends, much less 240.
And I truly dont mind most of the fwds… esp the funny ones. The only ones that bug me are the warnings about stupid crap that is not real. I see how many people it got sent to besides me and I cant help but cring when I think about how many of them may actually believe it and spread the stupidity. Please… dont believe everything you read! 🙄

The most recent was that I can get cancer if I re-use water bottles, or if I put them in the freezer and use them again. Good grief… could people please not be so gullible and not fill my inbox with stupid crap? It makes me ashamed that I am friends with people who believe stuff like that. The ‘get to know you’ ones are not as bad. At least its personalized and not a knee-jerk forward. Thats something.
I am with you there. Especially when it is so easy to research that stuff online. I have several people I have told that they are not allowed to send me something unless they check it on Snopes.com first. Does it really take so long to check and see if something is real before freaking out and sending it onto others?

Really? I keep getting one from Jorge in Germany saying I inherited millions of dollars….. lol so we are both rich! Woohoo!
December 9, 2008 at 3:39 am #744594I get so many of those game/application invites for things on facebook. I just delete them all, since I don’t like using the applications. I only occassionally log on, since I use it for friends I know from college, and a few others. I don’t use or own a Myspace. I’m annoyed to find out that Reunion.com pretty much went through public domain records in the last few months and created profiles for anyone they could find. To get rid of ‘your’ profile, you have to contact them to have them remove it, but they don’t really tell you how on their website. Annoying BS.
If I get a forward where the information is either false or out of date (like emergency legislation needed, for an issue that ended 3 years ago), I will email back to the person who forwarded the message to me, or to everyone if I know enough of them, sometimes with the link to Snopes or whatnot. I try to be educational about it.
My aunt forwards at least 2-3 ‘preachy’ email forwards a day to my mom. She lost my email address when I was in college. I’m very grateful for that!
December 9, 2008 at 4:26 am #744595I don’t like the apps in Myspace either. I’m not joining anyone’s Mob or Gang or Vampire Club, etc. I don’t have time for all that online. I barely have time to check my email and the forum nowadays.
December 9, 2008 at 5:50 am #744596Yeah. no gang apps for me on MySpace either.
December 9, 2008 at 1:57 pm #744597eh….I quit even bothering with myspace, as I’ve been so busy with other things. I just keep up with my site, livejournal, here and deviantart. I visit a few other places, but not actively.

Same here. I have a myspace account, but I barely ever go there. LJ, here and a writing forum is all I really want to make time for, otherwise, I wouldn’t be doing anything else!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I think people hit the send to all button far to often. Point is that there are other ways to keep in touch.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

I agree– for personal email this is totally acceptable.
My main problem is that I have to keep a good face with my clients, or I could loose sales. I hate to seem as if the money matters that much to me, but with as tight as things are it can really make a difference between paying my bills or not. So I just deal with it and hit the delete button a lot.
Yeah, I do have different addresses for personal and business, but once someone gets your email address they send anyway- business or not.

December 11, 2008 at 11:59 pm #744603I am to the point where I don’t fwd emails any more. It has to be either FUNNY as all heck or have a wonderful message for me to send it on. Other than that, I don’t. I have Melody’s email saved (for raffles! lol) but I do not fwd her anything. I am sure that she gets enough emails daily as is… 😉
