12 HOURS? and it’s #1 in the country?
Wow! That’s even worse than when I had to sit for 3 with my boyfriend, and he had a scheduled appointment. On top of that his doctor spent the first 15 minutes on his phone! ugh! Then they wonder why people hate going to hospitals.
I hope Danny’s doing ok. I know how tough it can be waiting when a loved one gets sick. Best wishes on a full recovery.PS:Where was the ren fair? I’d love to take my 6yr old cousin to one, he’d love it. You guys looked awesome!
the fair was in Maryland , it has 2 more weeks to go .
on the other front i have to see an infectious disease person thursday. If its Lymes they want to do IV’s , if its an infection of another sort they want to do IV’s ..in other words they want me in on Thursday to do their form of Dr.Jeckle work on me , and have a ton of students look at me . They are in for a nasty surprise if they think some kid is working on me.

😀 I’ll have to see if I can dig out some pix… I’ve given away all the completed ones and just have pieces to put together at the moment 🙄 😀 Ethan and Sean hate it when I make wings… to quote them “Mommmmmmm! I can’t go to school with pink ‘twinkles’ all over me!!! Why do you hafta use that really fine stuff that gets all static-y and sticks to everything?!?!? Just put it all away!!!!” The cats, however, love to walk through and roll in my glitter, don’t ask me why… (it sure makes the litter box interesting 😆 )

eaglefeather, I’m finishing up a pair of wings for my friend’s 2 year old for Halloween tomorrow. I’ll get pix kposted of ’em before they fly out the door. I’ll prolly put ’em in their own thread so as not to hijack this one too much ( 😳 sorry all)

October 30, 2008 at 2:09 pm #735051Sorry I’m late to this post!
My uncle was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy when he was my age, in his 20’s. The side of his face drooped, he talked funny due to it and had a terrible stumble when he walked. He lived this way for over 20 years. Then it started getting worse, and he had a different doctor by this time. They did several tests and scans… and found a benign tumor the size of a grapefruit in his brain! He never never had Bell’s Palsy to begin with, and lived much of his life dealing with something he didn’t have to just because the doctors never suggested he get scans done. They removed the tumor and he made a nearly perfect recovery.
I have chonic Lyme. It’s not fun.

My art: featherdust.comOctober 30, 2008 at 2:17 pm #735052A warning for those of you who have had Bells Palsy. Do not get a flu shot. The flu shot can cause a relapse of the Bells Palsy or other complications. For some reason it never occurs to doctors to warn people about that when they are pushing the flu shot. When my grandma was alive I had to constantly watch the nursing home, they kept trying to give her a flu shot every year. They succeeded the first year she was there and she did have a minor relapse, but we were lucky. It could have been more severe and permanent.

Awesome! i really appreciate it, and thank you for not forgetting about me. 😀 I, on the other hand, have a horrible memory, and I am sure there has been a couple of occasios where I didn’t complete a conversation because of pure space-headedness. 🙄 🙂
October 30, 2008 at 9:38 pm #735054Well he doesn’t have a choice about the flu shot, he has to get it. A relapse of Bell’s he can live with but if he gets the flu it could send him into rejection. He just got the shot a few days ago so I’ll have to keep an eye on him and see if his Bells Palsy gets worse. So far its almost gone so hopefully the flu shot won’t bring it back.
October 31, 2008 at 12:06 am #735055I get the shot every year , and i just got it Tuesday with no side effects, even if i recived a side effect i would still get it ; the flu would be a death sentence for me . Matter of fact the Palsy is pretty much gone i just have a bit more eye brow movement to go and im back to normal . It only took 3 weeks to get better , im glad it didnt take 6 months. I was on every kind of drug known to man from super doses to steroids to anti virals and strong anti-biotics to cover all the reasons for the palsy but they never really gave me an answer to why i got it
October 31, 2008 at 12:18 am #735056As long as you are okay, that is all that really matters. So glad it didn’t last long.

October 31, 2008 at 3:44 am #735057I got my flu shot last week and am covered in hives; if I could just take my skin off for awhile to relieve the itching, I’d do it in a heart beat! I don’t need a costume for Halloween… I’ve scratched myself silly and am puffy, bumpy and red… 🙄
