I wake up this morning, that’s usual. What isn’t is that the cat hasn’t bothered me yet. She usually looks out the window at about 9. So, I go looking for her. As I’m wandering around the house, calling her, I notice that her food dish is full. Which means when her auto feeder dropped the food at 5am, she never touched any of it. Which is weird in itself. After this I hear meowing, and it sounds insistent, like she’s stuck or something.
So eventually I look on the balcony, and there’s Kimi, half hanging off the balcony, mewing and panting heavily. I let her in, and notice that she’s urinated and well, the other, on the balcony. So she’s been out there for awhile. Probably all night.
I think when my fiancee closed the screen door last night, he didn’t check whether the cat was out there or not, and she was left there all night. I don’t want to think of what would have happened had I slept in, it’s warm today, and getting warmer quickly. At least the deck hadn’t warmed up to burning temperatures yet!
I just needed to vent, I am so very pissed at my fiancee right now (because he’s the one that closed the screen door)…
Kimi’s fine now though, she howled at me for a few seconds, then ran to her food and water dishes. Now she’s sleeping…

August 13, 2008 at 6:37 pm #727976August 13, 2008 at 6:49 pm #727977I’m sure he didn’t but… I’m still a bit mad at him. Good thing he’s at work, gives me time to cool off so I can just be a little bit upset, not completely pissed like I was when I found her. 🙄
August 13, 2008 at 7:13 pm #727978glad you found her okay

Sun Dragon Koi #3August 13, 2008 at 8:05 pm #727979Glad Kimi’s okay… that would be a bit frightening on her part and yours, but do try to cut your fiancee some slack. He’ll prolly be mortified when he finds out what happened. Accidents do happen… Hugs for you and kitty kisses for Kimi!

August 13, 2008 at 8:10 pm #727980Poor baby! Good thing you found her in time. Sounds like somebody will be going to the grocery store for kitty treats when he comes home. 😉
August 13, 2008 at 8:18 pm #727981rofl..yep…make him buy kitty treats! it’s a fitting punishment, and a treat for Kimi! 😀

I gave her pets from you and she looked at me with disinterest. I think she’s tired. Or just doesn’t care. 😆 If the fiancee gets home in time (I tried calling him, since he’s later then usual today, to find that his phone is on my desk) they we will go get kitty treats. And shampoo! She stinks… poor kitty.
August 14, 2008 at 4:08 am #727985Well kitty has a new toy (instead of treats, hopefully this one won’t disappear under the couch), and is now all nice and clean and doesn’t smell like pee.
Yes my fiancee was definitely mortified. I told him to apologize to the cat, not me… he then proceeded to cuddle her and give her attention (despite her smell). She seems to have forgiven us (even for the washing).
