Ok, so I’m finally getting around to posting my stuff in one place. I do alot of theatre related stuff (Not sure how artistic some of it is) and some random art stuffs, hence why the thread is called ‘Fancies’ cause my art generaly tands to be what every I fancy at the time.
I don’t really consider myself an artist, but other people have told me differently
Here is a bunch of stuffs from “Merry Wives of Windsor” Which opens in a week with a 50’s sitcom theme.
It’s a Pot Roast!!! π (Foam, Tissue and Glue and Paint) I’ll have to remember to get some pics of it in it’s pot.
Full Sized Juke Box
– This has been worked on by 3 other people besides me so far, though I did/found the design
The structure – That’s Lil, the other Props person starting the base coating after the carpenters delivered the ‘Box’
After Painting (Lil did this) and it actually looks more like wood graining than the pics show
The Start of the ‘Decoration’ All Sculpted by me out of various Styrofoams
The Start of the Center ‘Hubcap’ with the starts of the side Pieces in the back
Side Pieces with Fancy decoration in progress
The ‘Hubcap’
Closeup
I’ll post more progress pics as I get things done over the next couple of days! π

August 11, 2008 at 2:09 am #721890We are also doing “Complete Works of William Skaespeare – Abridged” as a noon show and at one point they kick MacBeth’s head off stage. Well the current head was 5+ years old and had an accident…
Not so Bad….
On second thought…. It’s Dead
So I am building a ‘puntable’ severed head
The styro base – a standard wig head
Skinning the Head with a coat of Apoxie Sculpt

August 11, 2008 at 3:05 am #721891You saved him! I always loved the decapitation scene from MacBeth <3 π Everything you guys have made looks awesome! π
August 11, 2008 at 3:05 am #721892Good work! Though (no offence) it does remind me of a reverse Mrs. Doubtfire… only it’s female face to male face instead of the other way around… π
August 11, 2008 at 3:14 am #721893August 11, 2008 at 5:30 am #721894Ditto. This is all stuff you take for granted when you watch the play. It’s surprising – though it shouldn’t be – to see how much work goes into this!
August 11, 2008 at 12:37 pm #721895this is an awesome thread. You do some really amazing work. π π π π
August 11, 2008 at 3:24 pm #721896That is awesome! I’ve never even thought about everything that goes on behind the scenes and to get ready for a play.
