December 13, 2010 at 7:47 am #833581I’m curious to know how the forums looked when they first came on line… What were the first topics? Who were the first members? How did our ‘cyber family’ get started? Who was the first member? How did everyone here find the Windstone forum? 😕

December 13, 2010 at 1:56 pm #833582The first member was petevg but they never posted so that kind of doesn’t count. The first real posting member was Vantid. And then Snap, Chessapeaka and Skigod. So I guess you could say Ski was the first non Windstone staff member. Most people started joining in July of 2006.
I could be wrong but I think this was the first post

December 13, 2010 at 2:01 pm #833583Ebay led me here early last year when I decided to start collecting but waited a little while to join. 🙂
Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Snap led me here in the last half of 2006.
I Lurked as a Non-Member for what I think was next to forever before I joined.
& then kept Lurking as a Member for next to forever before my First post.
Note I have rarely ever posted, I don’t have a Huge Post Count at all compared to my Time here.December 13, 2010 at 8:05 pm #833586I found this place in the spring of 2007 and lurked for a good month before joining–and there was quite a lot of activity already at that point. It was the gorgeous PYO’s going up for sale in the Flea Market that pulled me in. 🙂
December 14, 2010 at 4:06 am #833587I found the Forum in mid-late 2006, after googling Windstone looking to see if they still made my dragons cause all the shops that I knew about in the city had closed, and lurked for awhile before I finally got up the courage to join 😳
December 15, 2010 at 3:53 am #833588I found the forum while searching online for Windstone. If I recall correctly, that day I saw “Azalea”, the raffle prize, and signed right up – knowing nothing about forum etiquette or anything. Fools rush in … (but everybody was very tolerant). Thanks. 🙂
December 15, 2010 at 4:06 am #833589I found the forum just about a month or two after it came to be. I actually got an ebay message from skigod about an auction I had posted and she happened to mention a forum in the message and it and it got me curious. Next thing you know, here I was 😀

December 16, 2010 at 1:52 pm #833591The best way to see the member “order”, so to speak, is the gallery; it’s in the order when people joined. I was part of the LJ Windstone group when the forum came online – it was announced there, and tada! Here we are. I believe I’m like, #13 or something, including the staff and test members.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

My art: featherdust.comDecember 16, 2010 at 7:01 pm #833593I just went to the Windstone store and saw the forum link. After looking at a few of the categories, I quickly signed up.
December 16, 2010 at 10:55 pm #833594The last store near me that sold Windstones closed, so I started looking for them on eBay. Windstone was auctioning things off around this time; I won my OW and started looking online for regular sellers. I found the Yahoo Windstone group while looking in the summer of ’06, and it led me to the Forum. I lurked for about 3-4 months since I could read without joining, and finally bit the bullet and joined in Decemer of ’06.
