I finished him last night, lemme know what you think of him…the griffins frustrate me greatly although they are my favorite fantasy creature. Here he is…
I was going for a “guardian of the forest” type color. 🙂
Griffins are SOOO much harder to paint for me. I’m working on them though! I’ve spent many nights repainting over a failed attempt at getting good stripes on a griffin. Luckily this one came together pretty smoothly. I’m figuring the muse is gonna be my pyo nemesis! 😀
I actually think griffins are the easiest PYO to paint – of the ones I’ve done so far – but I suppose that’s because I paint by hand and you use an airbrush?
I don’t know…ideas just come to me alot easier with the dragons…Once I figure out how to do stripes the way I want them I think I’ll ecstatically proud! 😀
Yeah, I wanted green and I hadn’t seen much green on griffins before so I thought I’d take a shot at it. He has a nice shimmer in person. 😀
He’s still available if anyone is interested. I’m struggling with defining the feathers more on future pieces….
Griffins are definitely the hardest for me to do, and I use paint brushes (not an air brush…though actually I’d imagine it’s a lot harder to do a griffin with an airbrush, really…they seem to demand details that I think would be hard to do with an air brush!) They’re the hardest for me but also my absolute favorite when they’re done! ^_^
