See, I told hubby he shouldn’t make me cook when I’m not in the mood 😈
Kidding. Sunday night we had hamburgers that I suppose sat in the fridge just a tad too long. the next day, I was throwing up everywhere and hubby spent lots of quality time with El Comode. We thought baby Chloe(almost a year) was in the clear. Chris spent the day upstairs, and I put up baby gates so Chloe coudln’t destroy the ENTIRE downstairs, and I stayed downstiars with her and drifted in and out of sleep all day. chloe was having a blast. She pulled all the food out of the cuboards, chased the cat, played with the xbox game cases, stuck her hands in the dog water. All the things she’s not really allowed to do.
Well, yesterday, we were awake, but weak. chloe was fine. We had a late dinner(10pm) but we’re all night owls anyway. We ate, and i was taking Chloe up to bed. She barfed everywhere, and the smell could have turned your blood green, it was rank. Well, we thought, her belly isn’t happy tonight. We put her to bed after we cleaned her up, and within 5 min, i heard her coughing, and I ran upstairs, and she was covered in vomit. I brought her downstiars, and gave her a bath, with warm water, and she got a horrible chill. Shaking so hard. It was awful. I wrapped her up in several layers, and called my doctor, who was very non-flipping out about it. I was expecting the national guard or soemthing, at the least an ambulance. He didn’t even want her to come in to the hosptial. Looser.
So she slept with me, and she barfed/dry heaved all night. every two hours. All night long. it was horrible. And she cried. Oh my. You could tell it hurt her so bad. She’s wake up, heave, cry, and just pass out. 2 min tops. every 2 hours.
today, she seems to be better. doc still doesn’t think she needs to be life flighted in. 😕 I’m still going to call in tonight though. She’s been sleeping for going on 4 hours now. that’s a long time for her. I’m usually lucky to get 1.5 hour nap out of her. She’s just groggy and crappy feeling. Poor little thing.
I just needed to vent I think, and get some good “yes, my child survived her first flu” stories. I don’t think she got food posioning, she’d have been sick when we were everyone has said…but, this would be her first flu EVER. She’s had small colds, but whatever this is is far worse.
So hard watching little ones be sick 😥

She is my second tho, so I knew the national guard would not answer my call. I actually had to call my folks to come and get my son because I could not take care of him. He is 2 years older then my daughter. I spent literally 3 days sitting on the couch with Natalie. She bawled every time I got up, even for a second. She hasn’t ever been a vomitter, thank goodness(my son vomits if he drinks water too fast:roll: ).
It can be so hard to watch them be sick or get hurt! My pediatrician is really relaxed too! Natalie actually really hurt her nose not too long ago, it was pretty bad. She hit her nose right on the bridge on the front portion of the couch where the wood frame is, without a cushion. Her nose swelled up and turned purpleand bled off and on for 2 days. I called the doc a lot, but didn’t bring her in once. I couldn’t beleive they didn;t want to atleast look at her, but they were very relaxed about it.

Awe!
I can’t belive they didn’t want to see her! Gosh. It’s so hard to be a parent. *sniff* I suppose it’s good for the doctor’s to be non- 😯 , someone has to be calm when the world is crashing down…my actual doctor is very understanding. The on call guy is kinda just…. 😕
Thank you for sharing 😀
March 22, 2007 at 12:07 am #554040Yeah, the first flu, you panic. I thought my daughter had meningitis. My husband was away for the week, and I couldn’t put her down or she’d start crying so hard, she’d vomit. I called in my ‘sitter’s daughter and discovered Tylenol for kids!
You are right, though, usually, the body reacts pretty much within 24 hours for food poisoning. Give your little one lots of water and some juice to give her a bit of energy, Tylenol to help if the fever is too high and a lot of patience! Doctors can’t do anything for the flu and because her immune system hasn’t finished developping yet, it seems worse.
Warm fuzzies!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I know. I just cried. What more can be done? I held her little head and cried.
Fortuanlty, she is doing very well today, little destructive curious thing tearing apart magazines and stuff haha.
March 22, 2007 at 1:47 am #554043Yeah, I’d much rather see them up and getting into mischief than sick in bed!!!
