Sorry if the picture is huge, have to use my phone to upload. Here’s my youngest playing in 5 hours worth of snowfall:
And my oldest making his first snow angel:
AWWW!! So cute, oh here is one I found on facebook, this is lighthearted, and as everyone is from different areas, I don’t think this should offending. after my post this morning I found it amusing.

We have a bit of snow still on the ground although the sun melted a lot of it today, and the main roads are pretty clear. Getting in & out of my neighborhood is mildly treacherous, though!

January 29, 2014 at 12:39 am #908183Hey, Phantomness, I know our local Dollar Tree store usually has ice scrapers for a buck if you’re in the US. You could try there and even get a spare if you still need one. 🙂
It snowed a little today, but none stuck. Just waiting to see if there is going to be more as they say.

Thanks, I already replaced it though. I spent 12 bucks for a pretty nice one- they had others for half that price but I wanted one that extended to be extra-long since one of my vehicles is a Bronco and I’m a shorty, and it also seems sturdier (hopefully), and the scraper part is a little wider which is nice. The brush part of it also swivels to 2 positions, lol.
I might try checking out the dollar store to get a second one though, so I don’t have to switch this one between vehicles when my Bronco is running again. (This long one will be the one to go with my Bronco!) Sometimes I forget what a variety of stuff the dollar store has!
Oh and, the suffix on my screenname is just “ess,” not “ness.” :p

January 29, 2014 at 3:10 pm #908204It’s been dry and fairly warm (40-50F) here in Utah and we desperately need at least rain… The birds think it’s spring and are becoming twitterpated and we’ve got crocuses starting to peek through the ground. Oi…

January 30, 2014 at 5:11 am #908238It’s been a really weird winter here in the British Columbian interior too. Normally in January we get -10 to -25 C weather but this year the mercury hovered between -1 and 5 C. NOT COOL! We also haven’t gotten the snow pack that we need which is bad because our area can go up like a Roman Candle in summer if there isn’t enough moisture flowing down from the peaks to keep our forests moist. Today we got snow and it stayed which was relief but this has been a very abnormal, very worrying winter. I was a newspaper carrier for six years, so I have a very firm, very accurate view of what is normal winter weather for here – this isn’t. I’m almost twenty-four now and I have to say, having seen nearly a quarter century now of what winters in my region are supposed to be like, this one really worries me. In early January my cheeks are supposed to yelp when I step outside – instead it was warm enough that our nearly seventeen year old granny kitty Smoky poked her nose out once, which she doesn’t ever do unless it is pretty warm out. As uncomfortable as it seems, we depend on a good harsh at least -20 cold snap to kill the mountain pine beetles which turn our pines into ultra flammable kindling otherwise.
I really hope this summer is going to be okay! 🙁 In 2003 there were wild fires eleven kilometres from my house, I’m really not wanting a repeat!

Excellent!
January 30, 2014 at 10:23 am #908248That’s odd for sure for B.C. I wonder if we got all your snow? This year in Calgary we have had more snow than I can remember in quite a few years. Although we get the Chinooks that melt it but a lot of it has managed to stay packed in yards. My yard has a couple feet of snow still that has turned hard and icy on paths and I can’t even find the back steps that go up a hill in our backyard as it just looks like an ice slide out there.

February 9, 2014 at 10:25 pm #908647I have lived in SE FL for over 15 years but I used to live in Atlanta and boy when we got a fraction of an inch everything came to a halt. It was a mess because Atlanta has no snowplows, salt, etc and is extremely hilly. I am originally from Kansas City, MO when I was growing up and I hope I never see snow and ice again.
February 13, 2014 at 1:17 am #908783How are you all faring with this new winter mess down South? I hope that everybody is safe and warm!
