To us weather enthusiast. Unusual for us in the South….Florida gets turned white in places and we,on the Gulf Coast area, are due snow.It might be an inch or two, laughs the people up North 😀 , but the kids here will have a blast. The fools that drive too fast will play havoc on the roads though,I’m staying home. Please be careful everyone everywhere.
If we do get a white ground I will have to post a pic or two.It was sleeting the other day and Brego,my constant companion, was chasing it around, trying to bite it and biting the ground where it was crackling as it fell.He had no idea what it was and he’s 5yrs. old.I had a blast watching him,he’s a funny dog.I wish it would snow bunches just see him freak.
Anyone want to share winter home pics, please do.Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.January 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm #908105Ah, my friend, we finally sent some of our stuff down your way… when you’re not equiped for it, 2 inches can wreak havoc – heck, it screws up traffic here! I just got into work; it took me double the time for the drive in due to snow, blowing snow and icy roads (new job, not set up to work from home yet).
So be safe on the roads if you need to go out. If you’re not used to it, snow will trick you into thinking you can break quickly. But most of all, enjoy the beauty and the quiet it creates.

It snowed like crazy a couple of times (like a foot or two at a time, then it has all melted off. Then the rest of the time it has been bright and sunny, 15-25 degrees, a dry bitter chill and windy as heck. Everything id brown. It is cold but there is no snow. so it is pretty dry out there.

One day we have spring temperatures and the next it´s snowing. Normally we should have had at least 1 month of nearly constant snow by now. Not that I´m complaining, since I´m not a big fan of snow 🙂 I like it when the snow is fresh and the air is dry but this year whenever it snowed it was very closely followed by rain and then everything is just muddy >_<

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.January 27, 2014 at 10:36 pm #908116Well now they are calling for 6 inches tonight, but they haven’t been right yet. I hope the snow falls, cause if it doesn’t then we can expect 25-30 mph north winds the next few days. Brrr!

My sister says they are enduring the worst drought on record. Their rancher friends have begun selling off their live stock because they can’t feed them and the dairy men are desperately shipping in water for their cattle so they can keep milk production on track. Lots of the farmers are resorting to hand watering in some areas and that’s a lot of ground to cover. Pray for rain in the areas that need it and thawing out without too much flooding in the parts of the nation that are being inundated by foul weather…

January 28, 2014 at 5:36 am #908131In Chicago we have been getting abnormally cold weather with strong icy winds. We have gotten plenty of snow on top of that. Currently I’m in southern CA where it is like the exact opposite. It is warm and sunny, which is wonderful when coming from Chicago. But just like most of the west coast they are dealing with a horrible drought. I have seen dried up rivers, baren lakes, brown grass and I have only been here a few days. So much contrast in the weather. Hoping things balance out for everyone soon.
January 28, 2014 at 3:31 pm #908144We have freezing rain here in Alexander City, AL. I tried going into work, but the heater has gone out in my car. My windshield stated to ice up and I had to stop twice in 15-20 miles to scrape it off (I drive almost 50 miles to get to work). I called my boss and said I wouldn’t be in because I couldn’t see to drive safely. Turned around and headed home. I had to stop once again to scrape the window, but made it safe and sound. The freezing rain is continuing and now I worry some about my oldest who has a half day of school today. He gets off in two hours. Hopefully the buses will be okay.
January 28, 2014 at 4:16 pm #908145Freezing rain is NO FUN! The buses should have been cancelled, no? They do here, much to the delight of all the kids (and some of the teachers).

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmJanuary 28, 2014 at 4:21 pm #908146I guess it depends on where you live. There are places that get alot of snow and are prepared and there are places that aren’t. Some states you can get three inches on the gound and they all yell Snow Day, when some others would laugh a stay open for a foot of it. It varies. Like you could try and compare Montana or Alberta CA to, er say Indiana or Nebraska.

January 28, 2014 at 7:02 pm #908158It was cold here in Calgary, Alberta yesterday but today is nice and sunny right now. They are predicting a storm and snow coming in this week though. Most of our snow is melted off main streets and community streets just have remanents of ice and smaller snow piles now. I kind of wish it would just get warmer now so we don’t get more snow but we have had snow as late as May or June in years past so don’t really get much of a spring unfortunately.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
January 28, 2014 at 8:45 pm #908162When we lived in Soda Springs, ID school wasn’t cancelled unless we hit -20F. It happened quite frequently. We’d also get snow as late as mid-July…
