only the prototype one has a crown.
May 9, 2007 at 7:40 pm #570672i like teh expression on the face of the prototype too. and not in comparision to the bloated version it is next to in the gallery. i was thinking of the ones i have seen in person.

Here are some lion profiles:
http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/animals/lions/lion_4.jpg
http://www.slrobertson.com/images/africa/namibia/okonjima/male-lion-profile.jpgThe mane tends to lay back on the forehead more than poof up (on most of the lion pics I’ve looked at).
I also think from looking at these pics that even on the original Flion, the muzzle could still use an extension. On a real lion, there is quite a space between the raised area where the whiskers are, and the area where the occipital bone sticks out (beneith the eye). This is lacking on the flion.
Also, the top of the head on the flion appears a little too horizontal–on the lions in the pics I posted, the slope at the top of the head looks steeper.

What think you, Mel?Things like that are the least of his inaccuracies! Compare a flion to a picture of real sitting lion. Real lions look very strange when they sit, so I based the flion’s sitting pose (and griffins as well) on a dog.
His neck is intentionally very long also.
This isn’t a lion anyway, its a Flion.May 10, 2007 at 4:37 pm #570675Melody wrote:Pam Thompson wrote:Lupin wrote:I have to agree with Pam I don’t like the new style mane, I like the older mane with the definition on it, and the crown is also fun!! What think you, Mel?That’s what was bugging me about the face on the Flion. I think a lionness would be cool, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to purchase a Flion because there was something wrong with the face, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Thanks for pointing that out.
As Melody said, it’s a Flion, not a lion, so the artist gets the final say I suppose. 😉
May 10, 2007 at 8:19 pm #570677Yep, the artist gets to make the rules. 😀

May 30, 2007 at 6:59 pm #570680I’ll see your living in a dark room and I’ll raise you a hiding from Florida sunshine in a room that glows from space! It’s cool. It reminds me of the Star Trek bridge at night. 😆
May 30, 2007 at 7:00 pm #570681Sorry that was a reply to page one. I didn’t see the six pages. My bad!
