I like that!!! π
May 7, 2007 at 9:41 pm #570642As a Lion King fan and fanartist I have to say I respect Tezuka. He fully said his inspiration for Leo, as Kimba was originally called, was Bambi. Funny thing is, those huge “anime eyes” that we know today are originally inspired by Bambi’s huge blinkers.
As much as I admire the artists behind TLK, I know there is no chance in heck that there was no inspiration going on behind the scenes and I just wish, like Tezuka did all those years ago, they coulda just OWNED UP to it. Gosh.
My $0.02. I have a lot of friends that like both Simba and Kimba/Leo.
I think I already said this, but flionesses would be awesome. I like Pam’s idea of the lazy flioness, ’cause she’s right, they do spend about 20 hours a day sleeping. XD
I gave up waiting on tan griffin chicks. Could not stand to wait for cute little griffin chicks with their cute little faces…:(

May 8, 2007 at 12:22 pm #570648Oh awesome!! I just finally got to read that the black and tan Griffs will be direct…That means that I can pick them up as I can…Thank you Melody!!! π
I didn’t have time to read much yesterday and I didn’t get on lastnight…My starter went out in my car and so I had to pay a girl $10 just to give me a ride home (and by the time that happened I was so frustrated that I didn’t even want to read, I went to bed instead)… π― Now I have to call in today and figure out a way to get the POS home… π
So, to read that put a bit of sunshine into the morning here! 8)
And ohh FLIONS!!! I am so gonna be broke for the rest of my life!!! π (Or until Melody and Co decide not to make anymore Windstones. π₯ )
I like the “Flyger” idea…Although Fluma is cool, it sounds like a type of virus to me, guess that comes from being a CNA? π Fleopard? (Too hard to paint) πMay 8, 2007 at 1:25 pm #570649Fleopards wouldn’t be hard if they were black…
May 8, 2007 at 3:43 pm #570650True, but then it would be more like a Flanther.

OOOO!! Yes, a black leopard with peacock wings, that would be awesome! Especially since my b/f’s animal character is a black leopard. π You weren’t around in the 50’s, but then black panthers were considered the ultimate in “tacky” decor. There were velvet paintings of them, and things called “TV lights” shaped like black panthers that you put on top of your tv. I adore that stuff!

one of my neighbors has a coffee table that is a leopard with a glass circle on top. It is exquisitely tacky, and I am tempted to sneak over cat toys to stick in it’s open mouth at every visit, just to see if he’d notice. For Christmas, I DID neak a garland collar on it’s neck. π
