you know what would also be snazzy? a black flion! with great black mane and that sunburnt black body that was spoken of in the flapcat thread. give him sharp yellow eyes and there you go!! wow! droool! if you’ve had black griffs, black flap cats, black pegasus, its just natural to make a black flion, just as logical if not more so than a white one (i’ll still take a white though, don’t get me wrong). so what do ya say, hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Yep, got one like that here too, with peacock wings. Also a bronze colored one with silver wings, a lion colored one with bright purple wings( I didn’t paint that one)and a bunch of others.I don’t want to do these till I get the sculpture fixed.

WHITE FLIONS!! YAY! There must be some way to make them look unsheep-like… Oh, if you ever play with resculpting the face any, maybe make the face a little longer? IMO the face has always look a little to pudgy, like it was squished or something.

Exactly. One of the troublesome things about mold shrinkage is that it happens gradually over time, so nobody notices. I have a series of castings of flions from over the years and I can just begin to see these problems. The face isn’t supposed to be pudgy, and the front feet aren’t supposed to be flat.
I’m guessing the flion molds had time to shrink because they must not of ripped as often as other molds, so they didn’t get replaced as often.
These defects are very noticable (and unacceptable) in this batch of casttings because the molds had been in storage for years and REALLY shrank. I am just using them as test pieces.

I discovered mirrors don’t work with cockatiels! Either they are too smart, or the reflection looks like a cockatiel of the same sex(since the sexes have different colored plumage) and they aren’t interested. My poor lonely male cockatiel!

Melody, do you think you could post some pics for us showing the profile of the early (original, non-warped) Flion’s head? I’m curious to see how it compares to the Flion I have.

I think a female flion would be cool. Very beautiful. I’m imagining her laying on her belly, stretched out, with her head up and ears kinda back in a relaxed half-asleep state. Lions are so lazy!

I spent a week studying zoology and zoo keeping inside Busch Garden’s in Florida, last summer- a lioness tried to start a slap-fight with one of our volunteers through the glass window. πŸ˜€

I’d love to see a Flion family!

                My vote, TAN GRIFFINS!!!!

I would also love to see the Flions get a update and new color release. I would be very interested in a Flioness (white or black), or maybe even a panther (a Fanther?) πŸ˜† . I think something like that would look awsome with peacock wings.

OOOO!! Yes, a black leopard with peacock wings, that would be awesome! Especially since my b/f’s animal character is a black leopard. πŸ˜€

Any of those would be cool as well. I am still waiting for the Gothic unicorn family as well. πŸ˜€
