$51 isn’t a bad price for the three of them, but of course that excludes the cost of commissioning repairs. 😕

    Good luck with this seller!

I had some luck with a seller on ebay. She accidently dropped my poor flap cat and broke his ear. She asked me if I still wanted him (which I did) and gave me a partial refund. So see, there are some honest sellers on e-bay.

And good luck with the repairs!

I guess our opinion of a chip and the other peoples differ.

That’s the problem in a nutshell. To you or me or anyone on the Forum, this kind of damage is a big deal. But a seller who doesn’t know Windstones–or possibly has poor close vision–isn’t going to see the damage the same way. “It’s still cat-shaped; what’s the big deal?” At least they reached you no more damaged than they were at the time of auction . . . cold comfort, I know. :/ Good luck with the repairs! 🙂

Seriously I don’t call missing toes just a paint chip like she described…How confused can someone be? 🙄

Never having purchased one I have no idea of their value or what you paid for them but with that kind of damage I would ask for at least 50% off.

I had the problem before, I bought from a lady in her 60’s and got the sculpt not as described (a few fleabites, a broken eye socket (not bad, a little chip) and an H in permanent marker on the front. She said she didn’t see them, and I could believe her on this one, since she is older. The H is obvious to me, but that’s it. And she didn’t put the H there, just didn’t see it to take it off.

I agree…and cant help but wonder if they hid that damage to get a higher sale price…although I try to be optimistic with people. 😡

I sent this message to the seller and waiting to hear from her:

                    “Hi Michelle,

I finaly got the flap cats trio.
They are alot more damaged then the description mentioned.
They have more chips to them and several of them are NOT just paint chips like you mentioned.
Two of the flap cats actualy have missing toes that will need to be resculpted by a professional.
When I purchased these I thought they only had Paint chips that I could have repaired myself.
There is a big difference between paint chips and deep chips that have part of the “Gypsum” (what they are made of) missing.
The missing toes are not just paint chips.
Now I have to send them away to be professionally repaired. And that will cost me shipping both ways ($30) and not to mention the repair cost.
I would like to be compensated for this since they are worst then you describe and the fact that they will have to be professionally repaired.
There is no way I can gift them in the condition they are in.
Please view attachments for the pictures.
                    Awaiting your reply
                    Thank you
PS: why were they shipped on the July 15th when I paid June 30th?”

                    #725777

Very professional e-mail. I hope she responds with the same courtesy.

Oi I know, but she used that as her excuse. And her eyesight was ‘supposedly’ quite bad. Due to her age, she said.
