It all depends on how much she gives me back. Actualy just to ship them would cost me quite a bit not including the cost of repair (what ever that would be) then shipping again. GRRR! It’s amost not worth it!

I was almost going to bid on those (I LOVE the flapcats, I really want one), but then decided not to (I don’t want to ship to the states and then back again, and then repairs on top of that).
I know I’m a little late in this thread but I have to admit I was going to bid on them to. How upsetting to get those guys in such poor condition 😡 !! I REALLY hope that the flappers become production again, everybody loves them. And is it just me, but don’t they always seem to be damaged in some way by the time they get to ebay 😕 ?

Not all the time. There have been some people who have been fortunate enough to get undamaged flap cats off ebay. I have a bat winged one that is perfect (but for a flea bite next to the felt pad) and a bird winged that the tops of his ears are barely chipped (can really see it, but you can feel it) along with a chip on the underside of one of the feathers on the front. They both have minor rubs on their gold collars, but you can’t tell unless you look closely. And there was a forum member (twindrangonsmum I belive) who got a fantastic steal on a pair of mint black flappers.
Most of my small flapcats came from eBay and arrived in excellent condition. You just need to be patient and go for the right ones. Look for sellers who have a good record selling Windstones.
I’ve never used apoxie sculpt. I actually just use regular craft plaster. It’s easy to carve and dries really hard. 😉 I’ve used sculpy, but it;s no good for repairs really. What is apoxie sculpt like?

Sun Dragon Koi #3I used to use plaster too, and it does work well, but I went and bit the bullet and got some of the apoxie sculpt and different mediums for it as well, and wow, it’s so much easier to work with, and stronger.

I have actually been using bits of it as reinforcement before I start rebuilding after piecing what I can back together. Mmloda’s wings are currently pieced together and supported by AS, but the actual repair AS application has not yet begun, I am still working on the final details on Leigh’s shattered Emp wings.
Anyway, AS is tough stuff, but can be carved…I like how it adheres to things, once it is on, forget getting it off again, which can be bad as well, but for what I’ve been using it for, it’s great.
Anyway, Drag0nfeathers, I would get some if you plan to keep doing repairs.
