Three…and I love the little troublemakers. I just feel outnumbered today.

      There’s

      Donovan Josua (6 years old)
      Vivacia Raine (2 1/2)
      Aurora Melody (1 1/2)

πŸ™ I’m so sorry about Goldie, and Donovan. That part was sad.

            😳 I’m also very sorry but, I re-read it and the pages after….. I laughed, especially at the sleep with the fishes…. I’m so sorry… πŸ˜† 😳

*snort*…I actually wastn posting when they caused mayhem today…lol. I was putting the dog out…he’d never seen the babies in the bathtub…and wanted to get in too. BAD idea..85 pounds of labrador mix plus two babies in the tub… 😯 😯 My computer sits on the kitchen counter normally..I read as I pass by, or as the kids are eating, playing, etc etc. πŸ˜›

Poor Donovan! Reminds me of the time dad had to drag a dead deer off the road (we didn’t hit it originally, probably a semi) when I was about 7 – he came in the car and then tried to comfort his poor traumatized children by putting his hand on our legs (BAD IDEA!)… πŸ˜† We didn’t speak to him for a week I think…

Ya with our goldfish I think they died because of the stupidly long transport between store and tank (we lived an hour away, and my dad wanted fish, we’d gotten a free tank), and then probably because the one big one kept eating the tails off of the others πŸ™„ he was a real bully that one… and HOLY CRAP they can live to 20???? I didn’t know that, I knew they were carp but not that they could live to 20… I thought 5 πŸ˜†

I remember one jumped out of the tank, my parents found him the next day, dried out, mom begged dad to put him back in the tank, and… he started swimming around! Usually fish die from that… especially if the cat finds them πŸ™„

Oh I like the one to the far right perched on what looks like an upside down cake pan and holder. What color(s) are you going to paint it?

If the fish were packaged properly, healthy to start with, and not subjected to undue enviromental stress (like being left in a hot car to boil 😑 😯 it happens) then an hour’s transport should not have been deadly to your fish. I have discus, which are not available locally (NOT a hotbed of freshwater fishkeeping here except for 1 shop with Africans I wish I had the capital to start up a shop of my own)so I have to go an hour and a half or more when I get someone new. I have also moved cross country with my fish (discus, rams, kribs, cardinals, cories and from my goldfish tank an oranda and a bubble eye)and had most survive after being bagged for over 50 hours.

I’ve had a few of my goldfish (fancies; orandas and that bubble eye) live for 16-22 years. Discus and angels have lasted over 10 years. Koi (cousins to goldfish) can live over 80 years with one fish documented to be over 200 😯 .

It’s upsetting (not in reference to anything anyone here said or did) when people refer to fish as ‘stupid’ or ’emotionless’. Cichlids and carp are very aware and responsive. Knives are another good one, and I have read studies postulating real intelligence in the elephantnose. Just because they have scales instead of fur and no eyelids doesn’t make them less than any other animal.
( 😳 sorry for the rant I’m thinking of petshop customers and workers here; and what’s with policies like Petsmarts where you can’t sell feeder rodents because ‘they’re feeling animals and it’s cruel’but you can sell feeder fish all day long?)

Here’s a happy thought- exotic goldfish sculpted by Melody! Yay bubble eyes!

Ah..I had to go back and look..lol. That’s the featherdragon I’m working on, he’s got a long way to go before he’s done, I’ve barely started his feathers. I have like a thousand different color ideas for him. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ He’s the mate to the perched dragon, I’ve got really nice pics of both under “sneek peeks” in my website. They’ll be pretty cool when done.
