You know, today was the first day that I could breathe in the outside air and smell spring! Not only that, but when I was driving home, I saw a birdie hopping on the ground. At first I thought it was just a regular black bird because I only saw the back, but it turned to look at my car, and I saw it’s bright red chest!! I looked at it as long as I could to cherish it, and then I called KC to tell him. He was really excited too! Plus, the geese are migrating again, and yesterday I saw buds on a bush!!
SPRING IS COMING!!! PULL OUT THE TRUMPETS!!
I saw my first two robins of the year today too! It’s strange, because we had a bad snowstorm on the weekend, and winter probably isn’t entirely over yet…but they’re back!!
seasons here are like a scitsophrenic person, it hasn’t snowed for years and (with little eccageration) two weeks ago I could hardly see outside my living room window, on the second flood, (ok that was highly eccagurated) it usually gets warmer like 2-3 weeks after easter, best weather is in the end of august, but a good summer is with average 18° C
robins don’t leave here. we feed them too much, they love french fries, and socialize well with starlings, actually they gang up with them rather than other robins (they are violently territorial towards other robins than theyr mates)
I can’t tell if I’ve seen any Spring birds yet. With exception of the pigeons, I don’t know any of these birds…. Though I think I saw our equivalent of a Robin on Monday. Pretty blue bird with a red belly. I need to get a local bird book.
