I’m in the process of painting my first PYO, a wolf for my fiance (he has a husky). I’m not an artist (have dabbled though) and have never taken a class beyong what’s offered in high school, so this will in no way measure up to what most people here do, but he’s happy with it so far (he caught me painting it 👿 ).

Still being worked on, wings only just started, flash glare on shoulder and stifle make them lighter than they are. Misty is a dark one, just about black with lighter undercoat showing through in places.

Actually it seems a bit better than what I was afraid it would come out as, which leads me to my question. My heart dog was an Australian Shepherd. Pip meant everything to me; just look at my Internet name! I even have a tat of a pic I drew of her. Since this PYO diesn’t seem TOOO horrible, I was thinking of making one up to look like her. But like most of her breed she had broken ears and a bobtail. I was thinking of sculpting drop ears onto the wolf, and nipping off its tail and sculpting a feathered rear. Would this altering of the sculpt be in violation of Windstone policy? I would not be selling the piece at all.

I dont know about altering the sculpt, but it will probably be along the same lines as repainting production pieces, since it will be harder to tell if it was fake. Im not positive, though. I love the body and face on your wolf. I think it looks VERY nice. Im not overly fond of the wings…They look…waxy?? in the pic… The only tip I can think to give is make sure you go over your paint a couple times. If you only use one coat, it will rub off. Its one of the mistakes I made when I began. Overall, It is quite nice!
