Well, after Cerberus I think the griffs aren’t worth so few hours. Pliny turned out just fine – fine enough for Nirvana to want him – but I could have done more on him. I’ll probably be doing 20+ from now on, whether planned or not.

Yea, the first 2 I did only took me one day too. The very first brown tiger one and the pearl leopard one. I finished them both after sitting for about 10 hours. They were the first ones so I was so excited to paint them I devoted the whole day to it.

LOL Ski, I just noticed this comment. Yes, I was holding my hand right next to him incase a stiff breeze blew by. It was so cold I didn’t want to venture too far from my door since I was sick with a terrible cold, so I took the pics quickly and ran back in the house in jumped back into my slippers and under the covers on my couch. LOL

December 25, 2006 at 11:31 pm #519412I also spend between 20 and 30 hours on most griffins… I think the silver tabby I just finished was probably around 26…28 maybe. I did my magpie griffin really quick, 6 or 8 hours I think – but he was just for me, for fun, and he has pretty much NO detail at all, and no antiquing…just bold black and white.
…I’m trying to take the hours and hours I sometimes spend just looking at them trying to figure out what to do next out of the equasion…XD

-J R R TolkienDecember 26, 2006 at 12:04 am #519413wow….the only ones that take that much time for me are the dragons….
but I try to put more detail on them…the others…not so much….
I get distracted too easy…
December 27, 2006 at 7:12 am #519414I can do a dragon or a Ki-Rin in one or two sittings if I really work at it. A griffin is much more involved for me. So far my wolves have been coming along really slowly too, but I’ve been in a painting slump for a few weeks now it seems. I just took a break from them to strat a new griffin, but I ended up starting a purple Ki-Rin instead *shrug*

So does Louis! LoL
December 27, 2006 at 6:47 pm #519418I cant wait to get to the crafts store. I am gonna do a purple dragon, and then a red dragon…or visa versa… I decided that, while the paint I used on the dragon is hard to work with, the colors are veeeery nice.
December 27, 2006 at 7:38 pm #519419What about a purple and red dragon?
December 27, 2006 at 7:39 pm #519420Im gonna make one of each.
December 27, 2006 at 7:39 pm #519421I know. 😀 I was thinking of one dragon that could be red and purple.
December 27, 2006 at 9:39 pm #519422The purple Ki-Rin is reminding me of a my little pony, I think I’m going to add some black and give it some opal scales. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
