OMFG! I just finished dinner and decided to go upstairs and play on the computer. I always have the window open up here and as I sit down at my computer I hear a familiar crackling noise. I’m thinking “I know that sound and its not good” and boy was I right. My neighbors shed and fence was on fire!!!! I ran screaming down the steps for my husband to call 911 because the back yard was on fire. I grabed my garden house and quickly ran outback to try and keep the fire from getting to the houses (they are townhouses) but I knew I would not be able to put the fire out by myself. As I’m standing there I managed to get the fence put out when another neighbor yells at me to not put the fire out. I’m like screw you I’m not letting my house burn down. It took the fire department awhile to get here since its all volunteer. By the time they got here the fire had spread to the trees. They did manage to put it out before any houses were involved. The whole time I’m yelling at my husband to get in the house since he doesn’t need to be around all this smoke. I told him to grab the cat and be ready to get out of the house. I think some kids set the fire since alot of them play back there and there is no reason for a fence to just go up in flames. I’ll try and take some pics of everything.

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmJune 5, 2007 at 11:50 pm #585287Don’t forget to get yourself checked out!! The stress and smoke can hurt you and the baby too!! And you should know how dangerous it is!! Ok Ok so only one more bit of nagging 😛 Stop lifting filled stretchers!! 😛
But I can’t say much I’ld probably have been out there right next to you, and my Male thinking he needs to start beating me to get me to stop doing things like that, and stealing the boxes of furniture from him before he can say boo!! 😀 😀
June 5, 2007 at 11:53 pm #585288Yeah the whole time I’m out there I’m thinking I shouldn’t be doing this. I was afraid the fire would spread to one of the houses then it would have all been over. I was ok until the wind started to blow and blew all the smoke and fire right at me. Thats when I backed off and waited for the fire department. I know we made a thread about what windstones we would grab first and I can now say I wouldnt’ have grabbed any because they were the last thing on my mind lol.
June 6, 2007 at 12:06 am #585289Goodness! I’m glad everything turned out ok! 😯
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
June 6, 2007 at 12:10 am #585290Holy , I would have freaked.
But it’s good that it didn’t get to the houses! That would’ve been horrible. It’s too bad the trees weren’t so lucky.June 6, 2007 at 12:32 am #585291OMG!!! What a disaster that could’ve been!!! Good thing you kept such a cool head. I would’ve been running around totally useless. But, go the doctor’s right away. Inhaling smoke can’t be good for you or the little one.
June 6, 2007 at 12:35 am #585292So glad you are okay…make sure you see the Ob/Gyn and let them know you have been stressed about Hubby in hospital and about the fire.
The stress can cause you to miscarry….and we don’t want that. If you weren’t close to the smoke, then the inhalation isn’t a big worry.
I am so glad you are okay, your hubby is home and that your house didn’t catch on fire.
You need a vacation girl!!!!
Hugs! Things need to get better for you!!!!

June 6, 2007 at 12:46 am #585293I’ve had more smoke from standing around on a fire scene then what I got trying to put that fire out. Once the wind changed direction and started blowing everything my way I put the hose down and backed away. My husband is yelling at me to take a shower because I smell like smoke but I’m retarded and like the smell. I’m glad I took off work tomorrow because I’m so damn stressed I don’t think I could handle work, lol. I go to the doctor friday so I’m not really worried. I want to ask them what I can do about this nausea since all I seem to be able to stomach is mashed potatoes. Just thinking of anything else makes me ill.

That is just way too much excitement! Glad you and yours are all OK now!
If it was kids that set the fire, I sure hope they catch them!June 6, 2007 at 2:08 am #585295im glad you are ok. and that was some quick thinking on putting it out along the fence and also stopping when the wind changed. 😯
June 6, 2007 at 2:12 am #585296Contrary to my Lieutenants belief I did pay attention in fire fighter one class 😆
