I am not too fond of triplets.
what is the difference between a regular opal, a doublet and a triplet? thanks
A solid opal is just the opal by itself.
A doublet is where another stone is atached to the back of the opal. Usualy a dark stone like Onix is used. This helps the colors to stand out on some opals.
Or it can have a clear stone like crystl or glass over it.
A Triplet has the dark stone with a very thin slice of opal on it and a clear stone like crystal covering it.
I love natural opals the most.
