Life may get in the way sometimes, but how much does it take to box up something and mail it? An hour, 90 minutes, max.
I sure hope you get what you paid for, Megani. 😕December 6, 2007 at 1:35 pm #642010Geez, she really has lined us up, hasn’t she? 😕

We’ve been in contact three times, and each time she has said she will ship them very soon… the last time I checked, “soon” was three weeks ago, and she said she would send them priority at no extra charge to me since I had to wait so long 😕 I’m going to send her another eBay message today.
It’s worrisome since the feedback period is almost up, and if for some reason I wind up not getting what I paid for (I hope that doesn’t happen!!) I want to be sure I can tell someone on eBay that I paid a (large) sum and never got the items.OPen a dispute before the time is up. Friend or not, you have to protect yourself. 😕 I would be furious.

The only thing that has made this even partially okay with me is that she has been good about getting back to me. I just sent her another message, though… I asked her if she had really shipped them like she said she would (she might have and they are just late due to crowded Christmas post offices). And I said that if she hadn’t, I would like her to go out of her way to do it within the week. I don’t think I’m being impatient here, since I bought the silly things in October. That’s more than enough time, even saying you work almost every day 🙄
I totally agree, GB. It’s not like this is a commission. The production pieces are something that can be packed and shipped with a minimum of effort and just a little time. I will say this, though… she has been very nice and apologetic for keeping me waiting. If she hadn’t been I probably would have lost it by now.
December 6, 2007 at 5:24 pm #642013“Sorry” only goes so far, and then it doesn’t mean anything any more. It becomes an excuse with no intentions. Unless the person actually changes, such as doing the thing they’ve been putting off for three months, sorry doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a way to keep you mollified for a little longer.
I’ve had my dealings with Whippet too. Fortunately she only forfeited a layaway with me, and I still had the item. And it’s true that I like Whippet, always have, always will… I won’t let her do another layaway, give her money for something, commission work from her, etc. She’s just proven herself untrustworthy in those departments.
Megani, file the claim with Ebay and PayPal. See if you can get your money back. Three months is way too long to wait for an item that expensive. Give her negative feedback. She’s not keeping her end of the deal. You need to protect yourself more than you need to protect her.
Sorry this sounds so blunt, but I’m sick of my students right now, pulling crap in my class and hearing “sorry” while they do it again (one in particular). If it wasn’t so close to the end of the semester (one class session left), I’d fail her and get her out of my class. I just don’t take crap from people. What Whippet’s doing qualifies as “pulling crap.”
December 6, 2007 at 6:17 pm #642014I am waiting for the reply to the email I sent her this morning. If she can’t prove in a day or two that she did in fact send those boxes (with a tracking number, whatever) then I am filing a “no item received” complaint and will try to get the money back. I absolutely cannot afford to let this go… $350 plus shipping is a huge investment for me. I need the kirins, or my money back.

December 6, 2007 at 6:31 pm #642016That’s what I am beginning to feel… Now I think maybe she knows that I am a forum member and thinks I won’t get upset if she doesn’t send it on time (repeatedly). Maybe she even figures I can wait for my purchase for as long as it takes for her to get around to sending it, as long as I do get it eventually. Which is NOT the case. I may not be impatient, but I WOULD like to enjoy the sculptures I paid for as soon as I can afterwards.
By the way, I have a question. I paid her on October 14. How long do I have before the option of reporting the item not received times out and I can no longer file a complaint?
December 6, 2007 at 7:00 pm #64201790 Days I believe. So you’d better really get to Paypal fast. 3 months, friend or not, that is too long.
December 6, 2007 at 7:07 pm #642018I really wonder why something so simple is taking so long. And I feel bad for the rest of you here whom she is also neglecting 😕
December 7, 2007 at 1:34 am #642019Wow, this is worse than I thought. I’m feeling really lucky I got mine at all. I have to admit, I got a bit harsh with her. (I already shared this with a few of you). I basicly told her that I’d had enough. That her reputation on the Forum was better than this, but that at this point, all I could tell anyone is that she stole from me, and was that the way she wanted to leave it? That was when she finally responded to me. It’s really a shame. She’s so talented, but I doubt that anyone here will deal with her again.
December 7, 2007 at 2:07 am #642020artists can get this way. I do remember her selling her White SK and saying she had gotten in WAY over her head and if I do not get some major rain and Overtime I may be in the same boat. I have actually been thinking about selling my Frankiln Mint dragons and only keeping my Windstone Collection as complete. I still need to figure out how to post pics so I can get some things on E-bay if I finally do decide to sell some of them
I hope everything works out for everyone here

I hope everything works out for everyone hereIf you do decide to sell on Ebay, loading pictures can be done directly from your computer. Its not nearly as complicated as loading them here.

Isn’t it nice, the way people allow themselves more leeway and freedoms with people they know, even remotely, than with folks they aren’t familiar with? It sounds like she taking advantage of this whole situation, relying on her forum reputation and friendliness to cover her while she doesn’t get around to fulfilling obligations.
I sure hope you don’t lose out here, Megani.December 7, 2007 at 3:51 pm #642023Greater Basilisk wrote:Megani-chan wrote:That’s what I am beginning to feel… Now I think maybe she knows that I am a forum member and thinks I won’t get upset if she doesn’t send it on time (repeatedly). I sure hope you don’t lose out here, Megani.Me, too! 🙁 Still waiting on a reply to the email… it has taken an average of two days in the past, so hopefully today will be the day. I want to get this over with as soon as possible, either with the arrival of the kirins or the filing of a claim. The waiting is what makes me nervous.
