I knew I wanted to have something dangle from the muse’s beak hole. Originally it was going to be my late grams’ singel mother of pearl on it’s very thin gold chain. But even though this muse is for my mom’s upcoming birthday, she knows about it and my thoughts about the pearl. She wants the necklace in tact so Im giving it back to her without attaching it to the muse.
However, even though there is more personal hidden mother daughter symbolism in the muse’s painting, I decided to take a bracelet I always wore which consisted of triquetras, which are akin to celtic knots (it is both a spiritual symbol for me as well as an ethnicity mark for me too as Im part Irish & Scott, among other things). I broke the bracelet into 2 parts. Part of it is not dangling from the muse’s beak (see photo link below) and the rest has been put around my black PYO unicorn that has become part of that black horse family and black Windstone creatures I often refer to. Ive decided to share pix of the Unicorn too, eevn though Im not happy with her muzzle blending. The pix actually make the muzzle look worse than it really is. It’s more blended than the pix lead you to believe. The pieces of my bracelet are also much more shiny silver in person than the camera allowed. It looks nice.
If you look closely at the muse too, you can see that I add 3 gemstones around it, in the holes that are in the PYO. One is a blue stone affixed to the right side of the red portion section. The other 2 stones, one silver diamond and one gold, are just to the side of the bottom portion of the hanging bracelet piece.
Here are the links to the photos. If, when I finish my griffin PYO, and I feel comfortable enough (doubtful but you never know), I’ll share him in the forum too. Im still just frustrated b/c I know I can do better when I was younger and hate how much my hands shake now when I try to concentrate. Anyway, hope you like them!

Wow, your muse turned out great! I really like the unicorn too, Great job! I hope you decide to show us your griffin when he is done! i’d love to see him!!! 😀
Nice job PT! And I like that they both have the triquetras (but then I’m partial to ’em), so it’s kinda like your signature! (Will the griff have one?)

This weekend may have been my birthday but part of my personality is really enjoying giving to other ppl. Some ppl can spin that and make it sounds selfish… like the only reason I give to others is to get that warm fuzzy feeling for myself. Well, I can see that point of view but in my heart, Im giving because I love to give and it makes the other person happy. If it makes me happy too, I see it as a win win situation and nothing selfish.
Mom’s birthday isnt until Aug 26 and she knew the Muse was coming to her. But once I finished it with the bracelet triquetra pieces, I couldnt let it sit with me for a couple more weeks. I HAD to give it to her on MY birthday! Im a goof, I know. But I wanted her to have it now (she is still mourning the death of our old chocolate point siamese Puddin). I wanted her to have something on my birthday. It was important to me to try to make her smile and get her out of her own head for a while.
It worked! She held that little Muse (we call it an “Owlet” for nicknames) for the longest time, studying every inch of it. She had such nice things to say to me about how I did it but I keep it in perspective as she is my MOM. But until she saw it up close, she really hadnt realized just how detailed Melody could have been with it. That too impressed her greatly and she stroked each texture. She saw much of the symbolism in it which really touched her heart.
But her birthday surprise isnt completely blown, for Dragonessjade, through her kind heart and endless patience has enabled me to acquire something very important to me, and will become very important to my mom (Windstone related). That will be her big gift come her BDay and Im looking forward to it. It will be a huge surprise to her because she thinks she got her total gift on my birthday. Hehe… cant wait to surprise her further!
That’s great! I’m glad she liked it. No matter how old you get, there’s still something special about giving your artwork to your mom 🙂 I’m sure she’ll adore her surprise present too, when the time comes.

We’ve always had Siamese cats in our family, even before I was born. Recently, our oldest (19 yrs+), Puddin, had died. My mom is not recovering well from this and mourns terribly. We’ve all mourned losing animals in the past but this cat was very special to her. I cant seem to say or do anything right to help her which makes me feel badly.
So, I had wanted to get her a Large Bird Wing Siamese Flapper in general but the timing of this seems to be as perfect as it can be. So, on her BDay, Im going to give her the new Lg Siamese Flapper to help her out. It just arrived today and even I was stunned (tho I love cats anyway). I cant believe how big it is (I seem to say that a lot about Windstones; pictures just never do them enough justice). It was because of Dragoness that I am able to do this for my mom and I am forever grateful. I know she will love and cherish it and will put it next to Puddin’s urn.
Edited to add: that what makes it most special is that Puddin was a chocolate point siamese- just like the Windstone.
PT, give your Mom a virtual hug from us fellow animal lovers. That is wonderful that you are giving her the flap cat. I’m sure she will love it: -)
