Pretty pair. I wish I still had my male.

It looks like your male griffin is quite a bit darker than mine, which was one of the early ones. Around when was yours made?
Also, I noticed that my male griffin has the very pale blue eyes of the female griffin (yours looks like it has the type of blue eyes that the peacock dragons have).
October 10, 2007 at 3:26 am #623150I got the male off of ebay, so I couldn’t say how old he is. I think they are both a bit darker in this photo than they really are. In fact, when I got the male I remember wishing that he was one of the darker ones. I’m happy with this pair though. I think they look good together.
October 10, 2007 at 3:32 am #623151Yeah, the female matches your male really well.
October 10, 2007 at 6:32 am #623152Here are mine…They make such a pretty pair! ^_^ I LOVE her tail jewelery…it’s so dainty!

Now for some chickies…October 10, 2007 at 8:42 am #623154OK, to clarify things for me π The brown/tan male gryphons came out in two eye colors? A pale and darker blue?
This is my gryphon, a dark strippy one.
He has the same blue eyes used for the peacock dragons (I’m sure, I checked them side by side). Do all the dark strippy gryphons have the darker blue eyes?As for the non-strippy gryphons, from Mimi’s post and the photos, it seems they came out in both the pale and darker blue eyes. Does anyone know if this was an intentional change in eye color? Maybe the eye color changed during a certain year of production?
Or are these “Ask Melody” type questions? π
October 10, 2007 at 2:12 pm #623155My stripey tan male has the same blue eyes as the peacock dragons, too (but the black male has the light light blue eyes). This is a Melody question! π

I just checked a 1992 Windstone catalog that I have, and it shows a non-stripey brown/tan griffin with light blue eyes.
But I’m not sure if that means that the brown/tan griffins were like that at least thru 1992 or if they just never changed the catalog picture…

Your male griffin looks just like mine, so that’s a great comparison picture for me! πThe difference in finishes doesn’t show up much in the photo, but I see what you mean about the claws and brown portion of the female being darker.

Dang it Arlla and Copper!!! I had just convinced myself I didn’t NEED a tan mother because the coloring was slightly off and they didn’t really match. And then you guys go and post really pretty pictures of the pair. You guys really know how to ruin other people’s finances! π π

October 10, 2007 at 6:46 pm #623160You better hurry if you are going to get one. There is only one left. I am not sure how many batches they are going to make.
October 10, 2007 at 7:13 pm #623161I like the male of the pair better in this color, whereas I liked the female better in the wolf color…can’t wait to see them in black and black sunset! π

I missed this dicussion completely until today. Will there be more brown mother gryphons…ever? I’ll go get the chicks, but missed out completely on this one. π
Would it be too much to ask if they announce these store specials on the special Windstone email list, too? I don’t get a chance to check this forum much anymore, but don’t want to miss out on any more gryphons.
Windstone collector in remission. π
