Very pretty griffin. I can’t let myself buy on though. Must save up for next dragon!
October 7, 2007 at 6:49 pm #623134Oh, I need her! Need I tell you!
Gotta save up!

October 9, 2007 at 6:43 am #623135Well, I opened my girl up tonight…she’s gorgeous and I love her on her own, but I’m a little disappointed with how she looks with the male. The colors on the feathers look great (though she is a bit darker in the throat and around the face, it still matches the male well) but the finish on her is matte or satin, while my male is quite glossy…and his front feet are very yellow, while hers are much darker – their feet don’t match at all! I’ll try to get a pic of them together tomorrow…But as I said, she’s BEAUTIFUL on her own! Eh, I’m sure I’m just overly picky. ^_^

-J R R TolkienOctober 9, 2007 at 2:35 pm #623136I do expect them to differ some- they no longer have the paints they used on the males.. and the last male of this color was painted over 10 years ago.. 😆 I know if someone asked me to paint the same thing 10 years down the line, I’d have a heck of a time making it match perfectly…
(Plus, I personally enjoy the subtle sexual dimorphism in the griffins!)Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

I’m very curious to see what your picture with both of them together look like. I’ve been wondering how well the female would match my male, which is one of those that came out when they started being made (~1989).
Do you know what year your male griffin came out?

You know, I really don’t know what year my mom bought that griffin for me…he was my very first windstone…so it was a WHILE ago, but I don’t think he was one of the first ones because I remember drooling over them for several years before I actually got one.
And Nam – no kidding! But that’s why I was a little surprised, because it looks like they got the hard parts down pat! It’s really just the feet and the finish that look funny 0_0 Were there any tan male griffins that came out with a matte or satin finish?? The old stripey ones look like they might be matte…
I’ll definitely take some pictures today.

My art: featherdust.comOctober 9, 2007 at 7:10 pm #623140I would say my stripy griff has a semi-gloss finish. It isn’t glossy like my wolf griffs or matte like my black griff…
October 9, 2007 at 7:11 pm #623141Mine sounds like lamorte’s and he is one of the early ones. I managed to get him right after they came out. 🙂
October 9, 2007 at 7:12 pm #623142My tan male is non-stripey, and the finish is somewhat more glossy than satin, but not super glossy (i.e., like the brown lap).
Mine came out around the same time as Star’s.
October 9, 2007 at 7:16 pm #623143huh – my tan male is super glossy. I wonder if he’s weird!

Mine as well.
October 9, 2007 at 10:53 pm #623146My girl just arrived 30 minutes ago and is already getting aquainted with Aubrey. Compared to Aubrey she has a satin finish. Her hands are a close match for his, but his hands were reconstructed and painted by Kyrin.
I know these aren’t supposed to be the “Stripey” versions, but her stripes are really noticable on her display side.
The pictures are fairly close in color. Maybe a tad darker, even with lightening it in photoshop. It’s getting dark out so I can’t do outdoor shots today. Oh and I got my first fuzzy ever. Red with white eyes. I forgot to take a picture of it though.
October 10, 2007 at 1:05 am #623147Here’s a photo of my pair. I think they match pretty well. I do like that they are not a perfect match though.
Sadly, when I moved my ruby Lap to take this photo, I found that she has a chipped nose. 🙁 Of coarse, husband and kittys know nothing about it. 🙄
