I’ve got the reno bug too. We’re getting ready to sell this place but I want everything done now, now, now!! This weekend we’re painting the bedroom. My hands are sore so I thought I’d take a break. Yes, I know typing isn’t helping but that’s using different muscles. 😆

Ok, so here’s a before picture. I said that the house would be U shaped when it’s done, but it will really be more of an H. The part of the house on the right in the photo sticks out 4′ from the living room. The new room will match that on the other side. Both ends of the house will extend 12′ beyond the living room in the back, creating the area for the new deck, which I think is going to be 12’x16′.
Good GOD! I sympathize with you. 15 years ago, when we got married, we had a 900 sqft house, with three bedrooms and one tiny bathroom.
We lived there six years. We remodeled the house, updated 1970’s appliances, put in tile, painted, added vinyl siding. But after 6 long years, I told my tightwad of a husband, “I get a bigger house, or I am going out to buy my own house without you”
Fortunately, he took me serious, at the time, I made more money and had better credit than he did. So we bought a nicer, newer, bigger house. I have 1980 sqft now and I will happily be here forever.
I never realized how much stuff I packed in the smaller house…it like, expanded when we moved 🙂
I am so glad for you that you are expanding. I understand completely how cramped you are! Good luck and congratulations.
On a side note, after 9 years my husband is still complaining about the house note!!! I just tell him to stuff it…Hehehe

After 9 years you should be a nice way into the mortgage though
