*cries* I feel sick! I got out sniped by just 2 seconds on the Orange Bronze Spectral…. *sniff sniff* I worked so hard to get up the money too. I was shaking cause it hadn’t spiked up too high for me. I hope Olympia does another one since it didn’t go for nearly as much as the Fire colored one.

-J R R TolkienOkay, one thing I want to make very very clear here, because apparently somehow even though I said it many times, it was missed.
I am not angry with people personally over what goes on with auctions, i.e. sniping. I do not have any grudges from anything that has happened in the past, recent or otherwise. My original post was just venting my frustration over once again getting the short end of the stick.
Do I expect anything to change, no. Do I really want it to, not really. I only would like for sometimes, now and then, for things to go my way occasionally, not just with auctions, but just life in general right now.
Everything in my life right now is messed up due to delay after delay regarding my refinance, and this has interfered with a great deal of my plans for Xmas, and just getting stuff done in general. So when I lost two auctions in a row, I admit it, I got upset and vented. Did I think about what I was saying, how others would feel about it, etc…no. I was expressing MY personal feelings, and just getting them off my chest, in what I thought was a safe place, so I could move on.
Did I expect all this drama over it, heck no! And I am still reeling over some of what was said to me both privately and publically. Like by being human and making a few mistakes with expression I somehow am now perceived to be some kind of demon or something. Sheesh! Can’t someone simply be disappointed, rail about it, and let it be done?
Do we really need to be morality police and jump all over the poor beaten down fool for a small error? Anyway, my point here is that I don’t dislike or hate anyone for sniping on eBay, I know it is how things work and I don’t blame anyone for doing it, heck it’s just about the only way you can get something 90% of the time, which is why most of the time I opt for BINs.
Can we let this mess go away now?

Hmmm…a total subject change, but the person who sniped the Spectral from me won 5 Black Violet Peacock Old Warriors…geeze…guess I had some stiff competition and I didn’t even know it. *sigh*
I’m all bummed out now, I’m sorry guys. Blah.

Sorry about the riser, hon ;_; I hope Olympia makes more…and I hope she makes more copper fire scratching dragons for me! 😳Melody said that Olimpia is making a Spring green and Cinnimon Pearl one too so hopefully I can snatch one of them if they stay under 4 or 5 hundred. I doubt it though. I think the orange one was low just cause it was so close in color to the fire one. Plus there are alot of other OOAK goodies up right now.

Anyway… I’m typically thankful for snipers because then I breathe comfortably in my credit card instead of getting more worry-wrinkles. I can guarantee these beauties will be around for a long time changing hands… we just have to have patience.

I’m wondering if they plan to sell them later for a profit. I understand buying one, but going after 5 of the same thing, color and all, I don’t get it. Only thing I can figure is they are planning to resell later in hopes of making more money off them than they sold for originally.
Course they could have decided they had 5 friends who just had to have one too. Perhaps they were for gifts. Who knows.
If so, I wish I was one of those friends who got one!

I’ll give Kyrin a sympathetic hug also. I have 2 dragons on my ‘wish list’- a yellowy old green young and a peacock rising spectral. Both have been scarce on eBay recently- almost as scarce as my money (which I work very hard for, but not being able to afford to finish my degree keeps me from improving things much). I’ve only seen 2 suitable youngs recently; 1 was in England and with the weak dollar shipping alone would be prohibitive. The other I was sniped on. The riser was up a few days ago; though he had damage, he went higher than I dared before payday today. So I understand the occasional feeling of resentment towards those better off. But (like I think Kyrin has implied) I don’t in general hate or resent them- I feel glad for them, but sad for me. I hate myself for being in this position more! Phooey on caviar tastes with a ramen budget! I don’t hate or resent snipers; we all do it, it seems often to be the only way to win. It’s just the temporary ouch makes you want to vent. (I don’t look to see who the high bidder was, does no good anyhow).
Hugs to anyone who has ever lost that special piece, and hugs to those who’ve won them also!
(and phooey on my foresight- I chose to get the sitter instead of the riser a year ago, since I saw risers so much more often and they had a bunch in the store still. Now I see lots of sitters and no risers! 😛 )
