I’m very allergic to cats but I’m not hostile towards them. In fact it takes all my willpower to stop me from petting them. Once they can walk around kittens are so much fun, I love watching them play with eachother.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

We would get in trouble over here for that. 😕 My cats come and go as they please they have a little cat flap in the door. They are always around if you want them though. Infact i take pebbles for walks in the woods, she just follows me everywhere 😀
you live near woods? not in a highly developed area? well, then there is more room for the cat to wander without encountering a car. my bf grew up in a place like that. they basically lived in the side of a hill/mountain with other houses very spread out, lots of woods, and very low car traffic.
when i was a kid living in a very suburban section outside of philly, one of our cats was found smooshed along the side of the road a few blocks down. it devistated my sister.
May 2, 2007 at 4:01 pm #568364All our cats are indoor cats….We have LOTS of coyotes and to let your cat out is to play Russian Roulette with it’s life…
May 2, 2007 at 7:51 pm #568365My first cat(Crossed the Rainbow bridge a couple of years ago at a minimum of 18 years of age) was big and Mean enough to survive outside when she wanted, she was technically an indoor cat who liked her freedom, she would literally come home in summer to use the litter box! 😕 Go figure. and my new kitten (5 and a half years)is so afraid of everything that the patio is not outside but the walkway balcony is, and is more than enough to scare her from the front door. But I do take her out for walks when the conditions are right, and she screams for the first 15 min but then settles down for the walk becasue she remembers the faster she walks the faster it’s over and done with! 😈 I allso take her out everywhere else on my shoulder, every says “My cat’s so afraid I’ld never be able to do thet with her/him” But that’s actually my secret, my cat’s too afraid not to stay put!! 😈
May 2, 2007 at 7:59 pm #568366We don’t let our cats out either. Sometimes a neighborhood cat will come to visit and there’s a lot of opera singing in the house suddenly. Then my cats fight each other. 👿 It makes me so mad that people let their cats out to stir up trouble in my house. There is also a leash law in our city that says all pets have to be on a leash.
I know in Wisconsin some guy was trying to petition to be allowed to shoot the “stray” cats in his neighborhood. Of course, it didn’t pass, but he might try it anyway.
I would never let my babies outside to have to deal with people like that.
May 3, 2007 at 3:18 am #568367I would never let my cats outside because we have had problems in our community with someone poisoning stray animals. I am very careful making sure they don’t get out. Plus I don’t need ticks/fleas/diseases causing my babies any unnecessary harm.
The only time I take them out is when I take them to work with me sometimes. They always stay near me so it’s kind of fun (our store is pet friendly *thumbs up*)
May 3, 2007 at 6:57 am #568368They “Highly encourage” That cats here be indoor cats. If a cat is being a nusince on your property you have the right to trap it and turn it over to Animal Services. They have also just brought in mandatory cat licencing here. WE also have lots of coyotes around EVERYWHERE. Our neighbor lost his cat to them last summer. My best friend’s Mom has a cat and he’s only allowed outside if he’s got his harness, that’s attached to an aircraft cable leash and secured to a bolt in the wall, on to wander around the patio and basically flop in the sun. Who else here thinks CAts are solar powered? 😛

Solar NAP powered 😉
My mom being a Veterinarian we’ve heared all sorts of horror stories about coyotes. One couple were sitting on their fenced in porch with their little shit-tzu when a coyote jumped the 7 foot fence, grabbed the leashed dog from by the owners feet, and then jumped the 7 foot fence on the other side of the patio breaking the leash and escaping with the dog. Also had a cat that was snatched as it was half way through the cat door to come into the house, coyote also had to jump a 5 foot fence to get him.
Anyway, sorry to be depressing….Happy time!!!
May 3, 2007 at 5:14 pm #568370We have coyote stories down here too and I live not too far from Tampa. There are a few coyotes that have made it into some of our parks and they’ve been known to go after cats and small dogs in the surrounding neighborhoods.
