Have you seen it?? What did you think?
I LOVE Cinderella movies myself. I actually found and now own the 1960’s Leslie Ann Warren Cinderella movie. 1 demensional setsMarch 23, 2008 at 6:15 am #681481My all time favorite Cinderella story on film is “Ever After” In book form she doesn’t actually end up as the princess, but I still love it, The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey.

Me too! I love that movie!
Enchanted was okay. I agree that it was just a parody of previous films. I think they could have been more creative than that.

In the Drew Berrymore version she did not have a Fairy God-mother unless that is what you consider the house servents
Ever After is one of my all time favorites too. I think Anjelica Huston found the role she was BORN to play. I LOVED the twist ending too with one of the sisters being nice and what happens the the EVIL step mother and Step SisterMarch 23, 2008 at 3:20 pm #681484I enjoyed Enchanted, but then I’m a romantic at heart. Yes Giselle did get a little annoying, but she did “wake up” at the end of the movie and stopped acting so completely bubble headed. I also liked the way the movie ended for Prince Edward.
The chipmunk’s name was Pip.
Queen Narissa as a dragon was blue, not black. Here’s a picture from IMDB comparing her to Maleficent’s dragon form. There’s a little purple seen here, but I didn’t think of the peacock coloration when I looked at her.
March 23, 2008 at 3:59 pm #681485Maybe I was thinking Black since I was watching it at night and it was very dark. I don’t know. I did not think Peacock at all though. I did like this dragon though.
I was also trying not to fall alseepMarch 23, 2008 at 4:33 pm #681486Ditto on Ever After being the best Cinderella movie. =) But, I think my favorite book-form take on Cinderella is Phoenix and Ashes…also by Mercedes Lackey! =D
March 25, 2008 at 3:16 am #681487I watched it! It was cute, and made me laugh. =) Especially the house-cleaning scene!
March 25, 2008 at 2:33 pm #681488I havent gone to see it…dont know if I will…the annoying super-sweet role that Giselle has in the commercial is just too annoying for me. I much prefer the more human characters…Belle, from Beaty and the Beast..or even Jasmine, from Aladdin. They at least seem somewhat believable in character. I know Giselle isnt really meant to be believable..but I would just find her so darn ANNOYING. 😕
March 25, 2008 at 3:53 pm #681489I have pretty much lost all of my respect for Disney. The only thing they have going for them anymore is the Narnia series and Pixar. They are not making their own stories, they are just making crappy sequals to the classics that go straight to dvd or staight to tv. Enchanted was just a combination of all their old movies because they are unable to think of anything different. Yes, they’ve made their living on the fairy tales and children’s stories and there is nothing wrong with that. Just write something new and exciting, with no connection to anything prior to what they have.

thank you….I’ve felt the same for a while…it has been awhile since they’ve come up with something new…with the exception of pixar associated productions. 😕
March 25, 2008 at 5:17 pm #681491Actually Disney is not going to be making anymore Direct to DVD sequals after Little Mermaid 3 and Tinker Bell
From Wikipedia:
Quote:On June 21, 2007 Disney announced that following the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning and Tinker Bell, they would no longer be making direct to video sequels to their theatrical releases. Many executives were upset over the lack of quality of the sequels and felt that they undercut the value of the originals.
March 25, 2008 at 5:26 pm #681492Good all their Sequels SUCK big time. The ONLY one I liked was Lion King 2 “Simba’s pride”. I’m not sure of you would call the Rescuers Down Under a Sequel or not but it was good too.
It was kewl the way they combined the characters but the story was VERY lackingMarch 25, 2008 at 5:29 pm #681493Dragon Master wrote:Good all their Sequels SUCK big time. March 25, 2008 at 6:40 pm #681494Simba’s Pride wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. I love the Lion King. But I thought some major parts of the second movie were made cheesy, which undercut what it could have been. There could have been some very profound moments in that movie and they took the easy way out. They gave up.
Though I’ve lost respect for Disney, my inner child hasn’t given up on them just yet. They just need to hire me as a writer 😉 I’ll fix them up with good classic story lines with twists.
