She is on an adventure, and is largely without internet for an undetermined period of time. She can get online once in a while but she probably won’t really be around here. Don’t worry- she’s doing good. 🙂
Well that explains it! She is always doing things and going places! 😆 Glad to hear she is doing well.
June 12, 2007 at 3:36 am #586558Edwina is wonderful. 😀 What a personality! If I ever get that small farm I daydream about, I may have to keep an eye out for an emu chick. (I understand that they can kick like a mule if they aren’t friendly, so upbringing is everything! :P)
June 12, 2007 at 5:02 am #586559emu’s are cool! thank you so much for sharing the images with us. 😀

Ditto, or could become that big. I was under the impression that they were about the size of a goose.
June 12, 2007 at 10:53 am #586561That is so cute! My grandfather wanted to get me into emu and ostrich farming. At one point we were supposed to get an egg. Something happened to his deal though cause I never got one. I was disappointed. I always thought those birds were so cool.

Edwina is very sweet, but you’re right- not all of them are! They can seriously injure you with a kick. Anyone that is looking into keeping an emu, make sure to do lots of research and homework on how to keep them. 🙂

They kick, but not as hard as a mule. Just leaves a big bruise! Of course mine were just playing…

June 12, 2007 at 5:56 pm #586566Awww! She showed off for me! Gave her a nice massage and she tore up the yard 😉
June 13, 2007 at 12:27 am #586567awwww! how CUUUUTE! I love that thrumming noise they make when they are happy.
I put up link I got of the emu that was in love with our car in the community section. that is the closest I have ever been to an emu, and they seem to be such wonderful birds.
If I remember right, can they be used to help protect other animals, like sheep?( they do this with donkeys, donkeys will protect thier heard of sheap)June 13, 2007 at 5:46 am #586568Is Eddie in Hollywood or Oregon?? Must be Oregon… She’s so sweeeeet looking! She looks so cuddly and soft…

Nope! Unless she’s been moved already. This is possible. The photos with Amber were taken in Hollywood.

Eddie lives with us in California. Our house isn’t in Hollywood. We live in a rural “horsie” area called Sunland ( known as Shadow Hills to the natives)
