Thanks for all the feedback! Yeah, I see what you’re saying about the lack of purple on him purpledoggy. It’s odd, cause I’ve seen pictures of others that have more purple on them… and aren’t the IVEP ones. Like drgnlvr’s has lots of purple on him. I guess it just depends on who paints them. But, the amount of green on these just kinda turns me off when seeing pics of them in their homes. The store pic is nice and subtle. I really wish I had gotten a peacock OW when they were in production. That would have satisfied my cool color craving just fine.

I’ve got a Red Fire one already, and I do highly recommend the OW in that color. Very awesome! I’ll have to take a pic and post it one of these days. I am really hoping I can get a rainbow OW too though. Those look very cool so far.

I would love to see pics of your red fire OW! I agree with everyone else and would vote for the gold OW.

I’m not a huge fan of the gold dragons, and don’t really like the red eyes. But I really do think that I actually prefer the OW in gold over the emerald/peacock. Eh, I need to think about it more. Just wanted to see what all you guys opinions were. I also think I’ll hold off until the rainbow ones come out… cause those are priority over another regular production one right now. I’m very excited about those, and hope they come out soon. Like this week maybe! 8)

I feel the same way about the red eyes.

Me too. I don’t care for them, but I still love my little gold curlie. It took me a while to get used to them, though.

I have the Gold OW, and he’s just gorgeous.

I’ve got the EmPea on layaway with emerald, s he’s not home yet. Personally, I like the EmPea just a bit betterbecause he’s more colorful.

Thanks for posting pics! GB, yours I can really get a good idea of what the gold ones look like in natural lighting. He does look good, and the brown shading helps the color a lot!

I think if you’re planning on getting both of them eventually, you should get the Gold first. They will probably retire first (although, I hope not for a long time).

I hope they don’t retire for awhile because I need to grab one and I’m broke.

I had the same problem last year, those were the only two avalible colors… then while going through the “Show your collection” thread… I saw the Peacock Old Warrior and I fell in love. It took a while and some searching but I finally got mine! 😀

Plus there is the Red Fire that is out with dealers… the rainbow and black gold coming up… WOW… now there is too many choises! LOL 😛 I think I might try for a BG… don’t know yet! 😉

I have mixed feelings about the empea OW in person. I love the photo of the prototype one and I still think that he’s gorgeous, but the one I have in person seems over-saturated to me, like he needs a darker antique. I just get an overpowering feeling of “Wow, airbrushed!” from him that I don’t get from my other Windstones.
