February 4, 2008 at 11:00 am #661565I got the last brown lap 😳 just because I like the laps, not because I am collecting the browns and I didn’t get an empress, I didn’t know they were up. I just got my display case finished and it looks really good! As soon as I get the battery in my camera charged again and the case loaded up and the pictures taken, and I learn how to post them, I’ll share them. I’m feeling a little shy about them which is interesting to me because I am also very proud of my collection. They are in my office and my clients see them so it’s not like they aren’t already public. I think I’m just shy about them with you all. I’m so new to this group and I admire your “family” feeling,(even when you fuss and fight!) and the way you tease and talk and support and learn and watch out for each other. It’s impressive. Maybe this is just the middle of the night talking, but I’m not sure where I “fit in”. I don’t have young kids, (both my granddaughters are in their 20’s)or pets(both my beloved cats died at age 19 and I never replaced them)my original family is dysfunctional and most of them don’t speak to each other, so I am developing a “family” of friends, and I have my private practice/business as a psychotherapist. My passions are Windstones (duh!), music, particularly reggae, being spiritual rather than religious, and my work. I stay up too late, watch too many movies on Comcast, love my grandkids, brother, son, and assorted friends, don’t exercise enough or eat “right” enough and I am divorced once and widowed once, single now and OK with it but not closed off. So there I am in a short paragraph, (not all of me of course!)I don’t know how all of that “fits in” with you yet but I like you so I thought I would share some of me along with the pictures, maybe I won’t feel so shy. drgnlvr
P.S. Is this the post for this?
P.P.S. It took me 20 minutes to click submit, almost didn’t, but it’s 3AM so…February 4, 2008 at 5:35 pm #661566I think you fit in just fine! We are a really diverse group here with backgrounds across the board! 🙂

My art: featherdust.comFebruary 4, 2008 at 5:44 pm #661567You fit in great! I’m an ‘old first time mum’. It took us 10 years to get our twins here. My hubby and I are going on 22 years of marriage…. there are all sorts of us here from various and diverse backgrounds…. that’s what so great about this forum; doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from or what stage of life you are in…. we all share on great common link and that is love of Windstones. The fact that everyone here is welcoming and accepting is the icing on the cake!

February 4, 2008 at 5:54 pm #661568You will fit in fine I think our ages range from the teens to 70’s. I am 67 and the members have made me feel very welcome and not an odd ball at all. I think I am the next to the oldest.
February 4, 2008 at 5:54 pm #661569As long as you love Windstones, you “fit in” drgnlvr. It would be very boring if were all the same. Variety adds spice! 😀
February 4, 2008 at 6:19 pm #661570I am not planning on collection an entire family… there are pieces that I really like and want and I try to go after them! 😉

totally! 😀 I’m not a health nut either, and am too young to have kids (well, not really…I’m 21) so let’s go share some chocolate cake, and ice cream drgnlvr!!
February 4, 2008 at 7:54 pm #661572If you collect Windstones and chat you belong here. I’m sure you will do GREAT once you get the hang of things
February 6, 2008 at 7:56 am #661573Thank you! I do feel more comfortable and welcome! I had been “asking the universe” for a wider circle of friends and it looks loke I got what I asked for even if it isn’t in the form I was expecting. The universe always amazes me that way, constantly! Worldwide is certainly wider! (The universe also has an amazing sense of humor!) So, anyone else for chocolate cake and ice cream? (Thank you, WolfenMachine!) 😆
February 6, 2008 at 3:55 pm #661574Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. Of course, you belong here. You only need to love Windstones to belong. That’s the one thing we all have in common. 😀
February 6, 2008 at 4:27 pm #661575I feel badly too for being a little slow to respond. You’re welcome here indeed, drgnlvr! Everyone here is “just folks”; we all love Windstones and we love to talk about them, and it’s enough to fill a rather large on-line forum so we’re clearly pretty social, at least regarding Windstones. (I’m fairly shy in public, actually.) I think you were very brave to reach out with your 3AM post. It’s a bit of a leap, joining a fandom; I could tell you a funny story about how I met my husband at Comic-Con because I was able to read exactly three words of Japanese and happened to spot a group of people wearing T-shirts with those words on them. I didn’t know those people and it took a heck of a lot of gritting my teeth to step up and say hello, but they turned out to be wonderful folks. I discovered that having a shared strong interest was enough to bridge some pretty big gaps, and we all touch base every three months and whoop it up at Comic-Con each summer.
I know that not all fan groups are fun and supportive, but the Windstone group sure is! Welcome aboard! 🙂
February 10, 2008 at 7:00 pm #661576I don’t have pictures yet, but I did get the little fledgie – he’s not a jade. He’s nicer than the emerald I’ve got already, but he’s definitely just an emerald!
