This guy sat on my desk for at least a month before I finally finished him last Saturday. His colors are based on a drawing of a Bird of Paradise flower that I found. (Also explains the name – Elysion, from Elysum, Greek paradise or heaven).
The pictures are awful. Sorry about that. But last Sunday was rainy, it’s crack of dawn when I leave for work and dusk when I get back, so this is about the best I could do. He’s not really that bright and yellow, but rather orangey. Maybe his new owner will like him enough to take better pictures of him. Her other photos are always lovely.

A couple other photos are here.April 10, 2008 at 5:35 am #495015April 10, 2008 at 11:37 am #688588He’s very beautiful! I love how you did the face and neck feathers. 😀

April 10, 2008 at 1:56 pm #688592Very COOL… or should I say HOT since it is in warm colors? 😉
April 10, 2008 at 1:56 pm #688593I love the color combination. I was just thinking about doing something in fire colors last night myself while looking at a phoenix crystal I have.
April 10, 2008 at 3:05 pm #688594Very pretty! It looks like a lot of work.
April 10, 2008 at 3:20 pm #688595He looks great. I love these colors. 🙂
April 10, 2008 at 3:39 pm #688596Beautiful! 🙂 I like the colors you combined and the way you brought them back into play along the haunch. The markings on the large wingfeathers are particularly fine. And the layering of colors on the neck feathers is wonderful. Great work!
April 10, 2008 at 4:25 pm #688597😯 Total shock and awe GB!!! 😯 Very very pretty! 😀
April 10, 2008 at 5:06 pm #688598That is a beautiful griffin! She does look just like a bird of paradise. The color variations on each wing are gorgeous! I also like how you made the top half bright, and the haunches a darker color. Very nice!
