UGGHH!! I’m so mad! I have two ebay accounts. One for buying and one for selling. Ebay realized I have two accounts and they suspended my selling privileges on one of my accounts-which I think is ridiculous in the first place. Whatever. I have a few things listed on ebay right now…and I got a message from ebay yesterday saying that my seller’s privileges have been suspended because my other account (my buying account) fell below their standards…..A (*&^%&^ING YEAR AGO! SO now once my items end, I cannot sell any more.
The message I received was worded to say that this…“based on your account information and activity, it looks like user ID (name) is associated with your account. This usually indicates that both accounts belong to the same person. At this time, you won’t be able to sell any additional items with this account because your other account is restricted or otherwise not meeting minimum seller standards.
You won’t be able to sell any items with your account until you provide us with additional information. There are 2 ways that you can do this–through My eBay or the next time you sell.
To start the process through My eBay:
Click “My eBay” at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.
Go to the selling section.
Click the “Request higher selling limits” link in the monthly selling limits section. To start the process the next time you sell, click the “request higher selling limits” link in the alert message the next time you try to list an item.
You can also begin selling again by resolving any issues with the other account. We’ve already sent instructions for resolving these issues to the email address registered to that account.”
But when I called to request higher selling limits, I was told that my other account fell below standards and I was never allowed to sell on ebay ever again. The word this A-Hole used was “indefinitely”. WTF!?!? I’ve sold on ebay for the last 4 years and I have been a member of ebay since 1998. When I was selling actively, I was making THOUSANDS of dollars on ebay. When I was unemployed in 2012, I was making over $1,000 a MONTH on ebay-which means hundreds of dollars in their pocket. I told the guy it was bad business to lose a customer and he was like -tough sh**. I asked to speak to his manager but he told me there’s nothing anyone can do-which I don’t believe.
Currently both of my accounts are at “standard” rating, I have 100% positive feedback, 4-4.5 out of 5 stars on shipping time, shipping cost, item as described and communication.
I have 1 low rating out of 21 on communication and I have 2 low ratings out of 21 on shipping time.
Ebay considers anything less than 4 stars as “low”. Apparently they consider 4 stars as “low” too!I plan to read through their policy and try to fight this but it’s ridiculous!
Anyone have any advice? I sure could use some.Oh, and if you like your seller, or you know you’re buying a Windstone (for example) from a forum member, leave them 5 stars. 4 isn’t good enough *rolls eyes*
June 13, 2014 at 9:53 pm #914115I have had the same account for 10+ years (and even so, I’ve had to have it out with ebay a couple of times over similar stupid crap) so I can’t really help you there. However, my boyfriend had several accounts at one point. When he and I first started dating he had an account he sold on, and one he bought on (sounds similar to what you had probably) One of his usernames was associated with a small unofficial business name when he wanted to actually open his own hobby shop and he didn’t want people snooping in his buying activity to see deals he may get on stuff for potential resell.
Well, he sold a bunch of stuff and never paid his seller fees on one account (this was back when ebay didn’t force you to put bank account information directly on their site) So then he stopped using that account and started selling on his buying account (he never opened any business so I don’t think it mattered anymore to him). He eventually jacked that one up too and also abandoned it. He created a new, third account and he was fine for like 6-8 months but ebay eventually realized he had outstanding balances on two other accounts and they shut him off too. He can buy, but he can never sell anymore… at least not until h pays them which I don’t think he ever will. LOL (so now he has me list his items on ebay when he wants to sell, I don’t let him do it cause I want to make sure the fees get paid, LOL)
All I know is every account he had had a totally different email address. I’m assuming that bay probably goes by IP address though to catch people with multiple accounts now though.

I built up a lot of great feedback and everything was well until I dealt with a seller in the US who was a real piece of work and demanded I had to send a cheque to pay for something because they refused to use paypal and pay their fees. Well I did not know this when I won the item as I was used to paying for everything with paypal. I tried to negotiate and offered to pay extra for the fees on paypal and they refused so I said I would send a cheque. Well the next day they cancelled the sale and said they weren’t going to wait for a cheque and left me negative feedback. This was when sellers could leave negative feedback for buyers. I thought it was completely unfair and even talked to ebay about it but they wouldn’t take the feedback off so this seller ruined my years of hard work at building up 100% feedback. I was so mad I stopped using the account and my mom started one in her name that we started listing stuff on later on. Anyway I got away from ebay after that for a few years and forgot all about the accounts. I started a new one a couple years ago to buy some more things and then after a while I decided to try selling again. They put limits on my selling initially and then when I called after a few months to increase the limits, they asked me about the old account that had been in my name that I forgot about. Apparently I was owing some fees on there that I never knew about. It wasn’t a lot but they were saying that I should pay those in order to raise the limits on my new account. Well at that time I didn’t have money to pay any fees unless I sold more stuff and explained all this. They left my account as it was so I waited a few months and called them again and explained I needed the seller limits raised. Well this time they looked at my feedback and everything and agreed to raise the limits and didn’t mention the old account so they raised the limits and now everything is fine. I think it depends who you talk to at ebay and some are idiots. If I were you I would call back and talk to someone else or a manager and explain the situation and tell them you need to be able to sell for income or whatever. Someone should be able to help you.
