out of curiosity, i see alot of adds on ebay saying that one windstone is another. Would it be rude to message them and inform them of the actual piece? I would hate for other collectors to be misled if they really didn’t know what they were buying. like this one V
WINDSTONE EDITIONS Spectral Dragon Gold Flame VERY RARE!!! Magic Fantasy
I mean that is an old brown mother..not a spectral..
it says this in the the text:
“GOLD SPECTRAL”
GOLD MOTHER DRAGON
VERY RARE!
*1985 Limited Edition!
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL DRAGON. MEASURES 9X6X5 INCHES. GOOD CONDITION. THE PAINT WAS TOUCHED UP A BIT BY THE PAST OWNER. NO GLUED PARTS. NO DAMAGE!. THIS WILL MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO YOUR DRAGON COLLECTION.
isn’t that misinformation?

I think it depends upon the seller – I’ve been lucky in that I seem to have contacted sellers that appreciate it by receiving ‘thank you for the information’ type responses back.
I guess you always run the risk of being perceived as ‘rude’ … so I believe it depends upon how much it bothers you.

I don’t think it’s rude to let someone know what it should be listed as if they aren’t knowledgeable about what they are selling. Most are grateful if you try and help them.

The listing has been corrected. I also have found that ebay sellers usually appreciate information about the items they are selling.
February 9, 2014 at 10:00 pm #908643I have sent a message to ebay sellers once in awhile when there was a wrong description on a Windstone, especially when it is one like the royal hatchers, and they always thank me for it and try to fix it. I usually mention that a correction might bring more bidders and more money if the error is corrected.
February 9, 2014 at 11:56 pm #908650Thanks for input. I asked because I was nipped at by a seller the one time I have messaged someone about an add, and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t considered rude. The person I had messaged told me I must have obviously never seen a real windstone if I didn’t know that the fledge they had posted was a “custom ordered/painted sculpt” as they had put it.
I didn’t message anybody again after that, but it bugs the heck out of me to see stuff that is misleading. It was a while ago (like last march or so), and it was removed a short time later.
