Okay, so I bought a gargoyle egg with eyes on ebay on Mar 31. I’ve paid and then heard nothing from the seller and the package hasn’t arrived, but there have been long delays lately with packages coming from the states. So far I have send the seller 2 e-mail requests for information, like when was it shipped, and heard nothing back so far. I plan on sending them one more request before I report them to ebay.
So my question is what else should I be doing? I’d like to get my money back if possible, and I will be leaving negative feedback for them nad all but this is my first negative experiance so I though I’d ask all the knowledgeable folks here.
Thanks!
May 10, 2007 at 12:34 am #572767I’d try one more time to contact the seller then report him to ebay. Did you pay with a credit card? If you did you may be able to get the money back but otherwise I don’t think you can. Hope he shows up!
May 10, 2007 at 3:49 am #572768Good luck getting him, fox! I hope it’s just border delays.
May 10, 2007 at 6:30 am #572769I paid via Paypal. I hope I can get my money back, at least then I could get a curlie.
I will be sending one more e-mail and in it saying that if there is no response I will contact ebay, before reporting them.
I hope its border delays, But I would need shipping info to find anything out. 😕 I heard from tsija and she still hasn’t gotten her BG Curlie yet!!!
May 10, 2007 at 9:44 am #572770Make sure you are contacting him using the Ebay message system, otherwise your messages may be getting filtered as Spam. Also, I use this method… If he expects payment in 10 days, I will give him 10 days to reply. If he expects payment in three, I expect a response in 3, etc etc. If you have waited long enough, just go through Paypal and file a claim. He will have to respond then or you will get awarded. The problem with that is that they charge $25. If your claim is for $30, you will only get $5. Sucks, hu?

For that reason — if she used a credit card for the Paypal transaction, it would be better to file a dispute via the credit card company, since its free.
May 10, 2007 at 12:22 pm #572772I don’t remember where it is (though it’s relatively easy to find), but eBay also lets you request (from them) more contact information for the seller. It should include a phone number, if you’re willing/able to call them. I couldn’t reach someone for almost 3 weeks, but I requested that info (seller gets an email copy saying that eBay gave it to you), and *bam* I had an email within an hour. I didn’t have to even try calling.

Yep!! 😆 Most people don’t go this far (sadly, there are a lot of lazy people out there.. even when it comes to their money!) so most sellers don’t have to worry about it. But for many, the idea of an angry customer calling their house is enough to motivate them to get off their rears and take care of business!! 😉

My art: featherdust.comMay 10, 2007 at 9:15 pm #572774I hope you got it resolved. I was gonna say what Ski said. Sometimes when I try to contact a seller thru email they haven’t received it. So I wait a couple of days and then I try thru ebay. Hopefully it is a miscommunication and not a scam.
May 10, 2007 at 9:38 pm #572775I had to deal with a seller recently who wouldn’t respond to my emails, I finally wrote them and told them if I didn’t hear back from them within 2 days, I was getting eBay involved. I got an email the next day, what do you know.

May 10, 2007 at 10:08 pm #572776I had to deal with a nonpaying buyer recently. I state in all my auctions that I expect payment within 10 says. I waited 11 to make up for the Sunday that fell within the window. I sent an invoice right away, on day 3, day 5 and day 8 all saying they had until X to pay or make arrangements. All of the emails were sent using the eBay system so they had to get them. I never heard from then so I filed a claim with eBay. When day 8 hit and I could end the claim I did. I never heard from them and left them negative feedback.
Crazy thing was they won a set of the Hallmark Kiss-Kiss bears for $0.99!

Thanks, I’ll try that too. 🙂
