OK So two questions to anyone who knows the answers:
First, is this type of “auction” allowed in Ebay rules?:
It’s not an auction at all, but a listing for dragons for sale.
Second – has anyone on the forums dealt with this person?

January 12, 2012 at 7:43 pm #868952Dealt with her, no. Talked with her, yes. I wanted to see she had a CP Lap hidden in her collection (which she didn’t). Seemed like a nice enough person, communication was very prompt. Checking the “completed sales” for Windstone, she’s already done at least one transaction, for the pink lap dragon. So while the “negotiations” are going on offstage, as it were, the actual transactions appear to be going through ebay.
As Wampus said, it’s against the rules. But I’ve seen this sort of thing happening more and more on ebay, where there are “reserved for” auctions and other oddities that don’t quite fit the traditional ebay mold.
Personally, not judging on right or wrong, just on potential earnings, I think she would have done better financially to list and sell them individually in the normal way. Some of those critters would probably have been bid up to higher than she took for them. But who’s to say?

January 12, 2012 at 7:48 pm #868954Oh dear.. I just checked the Feedback file and this person doesn’t seem to have the best of feedback.. but all of the explanations (from the old forum) are gone – does anyone know what that was all about? (feel free to PM me if you don’t want to bring up old stuff) – I was going to message her about some stuff but after seeing the feedback list I’m a bit scared to.

Indeed! But a lot of that feedback was from ’09, and only one in ’10 – I’m curious about the negative feedback that she received on the unofficial feedback thread :/

I think so, too. There are a few things on her list that are really appealing to me, if they were auctions I would bid. Doing it that way is too complicated. TL;DR

The unofficial feedback thread!!! How i forget to look at helpful tools like this.
January 12, 2012 at 8:27 pm #868960I sent a message just moments after her auction posted, but she spent the better part of the day selling to a large quantity buyer before responding to mine. All the dragons (except the very expensive ones) are already sold. Oh well. 🙁
January 12, 2012 at 11:36 pm #86897711. White Grand Pegasus – LIKE NEW! No original box.
I’m curious about what this is?
January 12, 2012 at 11:59 pm #868978I don’t want to go into details publicly because the situation was quite ugly, but let me give one piece of advice. Please only agree to do business with the individual listed WITH ebay’s protection. If you want a piece, have her create an auction for you.

http://windstoneeditions.com/forum/i-think-i-was-tricked-now-i-know-i-was-tricked?page=page=page=1Yep, you found them, though not the part where it got really ugly thank goodness. I also have emails that show that the first is not a shipping issue.
However, this person does appear to hold up her end on official ebay auctions. Please only purchase these with ebay’s protection. That’s all I’m going to say. I really don’t want to revisit this. I almost left the forum because of it.
